Machine Assistant in Miami, Florida at Century Metals and Supplies

Century Metals & Supplies is seeking a Machine Assistant for our 2nd shift production team. The Machine Assistant works directly with the Machine Operator to prepare materials, support machine setup and operation, and maintain a safe and efficient production area.

Schedule: 1 PM - 9:30 PM
Pay: Starting at $17.00 per hour
Overtime: May be required based on production needs

Responsibilities

Assist the Machine Operator with daily production and machine operation.
Follow instructions from the Machine Operator for setup, processing, and production tasks.
Operate a forklift safely to move and stage materials as needed.
Prepare coils and other materials for processing, including mounting coils on the uncoiler.
Assist with initial machine setup under the direction of the Machine Operator.
Follow established quality procedures and verify materials during processing.
Keep the assigned work area clean and organized.
Place scrap metal in designated recycling containers.
Assist in other production areas as needed based on operational requirements.
Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
Work overtime when required based on business needs.
Qualifications

General understanding of measurements, including length, width, and thickness.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a production team.
Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
Forklift experience preferred.
Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus.
Must be dependable and able to work the assigned 2nd-shift schedule.
Working Conditions

Industrial warehouse/manufacturing environment.
Warehouse temperatures may be warm during hotter months.
May occasionally need to report early or stay beyond scheduled hours based on production needs.
Physical Requirements

Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, and crouch.
Regularly use hands and fingers to handle materials and equipment.
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
