Equipment Operator – Asphalt & Sitework in Miami, Florida at CX Builders Group LLC

CX Builders Group is looking for an experienced Equipment Operator to join our asphalt, paving, and sitework crew.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience operating construction equipment, principally skid-steers, excavators, rollers, and paving machines.

This position requires someone reliable, safety-focused, and able to work in the field as part of a small crew. The operator will assist with asphalt paving, milling operations, grading, compaction, concrete preparation, drainage work, and general civil construction tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Operate construction equipment, including:

• Skid steer

• Mini excavator/excavator

• Asphalt roller

• Other small construction equipment as needed

Perform grading, spreading, backfilling, trenching, loading, unloading, and material placement.

Assist with asphalt paving operations, including prep work, base work, rolling, and cleanup.

Support concrete, drainage, and general sitework operations when equipment work is not required.

Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues immediately.

Load, secure, and transport small equipment when needed.

Follow safety procedures, MOT requirements, and supervisor instructions.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, equipment, and jobsite.

Work with the crew to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience operating construction equipment preferred.

Experience with asphalt paving work is strongly preferred.

Must know how to operate skid steer, excavator, roller, and paving equipment safely.

Must be able to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions.

Must be reliable and show up on time.

Must be able to work day or night shifts when required.

Must be able to follow instructions and work well with a small crew.

Valid driver’s license preferred.

CDL is a plus but not required.

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work outdoors for extended periods.

Ability to lift to 50 lbs when needed.

Ability to work around heavy equipment, asphalt, traffic control areas, and active construction sites.
