About the Role:

The Engineer-Process Senior (Chemical) at our Northport manufacturing facility plays a critical role in optimizing and enhancing chemical manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, safety, and product quality. This position involves leading process design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact production performance and operational excellence. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and maintenance to implement innovative solutions and maintain compliance with environmental and safety regulations. They will also be responsible for analyzing process data, developing process models, and driving projects that reduce costs and improve sustainability. Ultimately, this role is essential for maintaining the competitive edge of our manufacturing operations through technical expertise and leadership in chemical process engineering.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of chemical process design, control, and optimization.
• Experience with process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with safety, health, and environmental regulations applicable to chemical manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in advanced process modeling software such as Aspen Plus or HYSYS.
• Previous experience working in a large-scale chemical manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, yield, and safety.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts to identify and resolve process-related issues impacting production.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to implement process improvements and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Analyze process data and develop models to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage and execute projects aimed at cost reduction, waste minimization, and sustainability enhancement.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and standard operating procedures related to process engineering activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
