About the Role:

The Retail Team Leader plays a pivotal role in driving the success of retail operations by leading and motivating a team to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets. This position requires overseeing daily store activities, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. The Retail Team Leader acts as a bridge between store management and staff, facilitating communication and implementing company policies effectively. They are responsible for coaching team members, managing schedules, and resolving any issues that arise to maintain smooth store functioning. Ultimately, the role aims to enhance customer satisfaction, optimize team performance, and contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the retail location.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a retail environment with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team leader role.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations and customer service principles.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with staff training and development.
  • Familiarity with sales analytics and performance metrics.
  • Certification in retail management or leadership training programs.
  • Bilingual abilities to support diverse customer and team member populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop retail staff to achieve individual and team sales goals.
  • Manage daily store operations including opening and closing procedures, inventory control, and merchandising standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a welcoming shopping environment.
  • Coordinate staff schedules, monitor attendance, and ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to improve product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Monitor sales performance and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and loss prevention procedures.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations of retail team members.
