Location(s): Rockville, MD (In-Office two days per week)

Job Description

The human resource assistant is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations.

Essential Functions
  • Assists with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties;
  • Coordinates with the HR Manager/Recruiter and hiring managers on staffing needs;
  • Assists in the full recruiting process of employees, including job posting, identifying candidates, phone screening, team interviews, assessments and issuing employment letters;
  • Performs HRIS data entry and maintains accurate and up-to-date personnel files, records, and documentation;
  • Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures;
  • Helps with new-hire procedures, including organizing employee orientation, creating new employee files, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted;
  • Coordinates with HR Manager in program design, analysis, budgeting, implementation of new compensation program;
  • Responds to reference checks and verifications of employment status;
  • Assists the manager with HR projects;
  • Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors;
  • Helps in timesheet data gathering and follow up/correction of the Time Tracking System;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Who You AreRequired Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, plus one year of HR experience.
  • Able to work legally in the United States
