Dietary Aide/ Cook's Helper/ Prep Cook - Full Time in Poulsbo, Washington at Martha & Mary Health Services

The Dietary Aide/ Cook’s Helper / Prep Cook will assist the Cook, Food Service Manager and Food Service Director. Works most closely with the following internal staff to effectively meet our resident’s needs: Charge Nurses, NACs, Lead Housekeeper, and other Dietary staff. The main external customer contact will include: Residents and their families and friends, Volunteers, and Food Vendors. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys staying busy and working as part of a team. You’ll help prepare food, assemble resident meals, keep our kitchen clean and organized, and support the day-to-day operation of our Dining Services department.

Starting wage is $17.75/hr. up to $21.61 depending on related experience as determined by Supervisor and HR.

Schedule: Wednesday-Sunday,

Hours will vary based on department needs, with shifts scheduled between 5:00 AM and 9:00 PM. Applicants should have flexibility to work a variety of shifts within this timeframe.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare cold foods, desserts, salads, fruit trays, and other menu items
• Wash, peel, cut, and prepare fruits, vegetables, meats, poultry, and seafood
• Measure ingredients and assist with food preparation
• Prepare resident trays according to therapeutic and textured diets and required liquid consistencies
• Deliver and retrieve resident meal carts
• Prepare coffee, hot water, and other beverage service items
• Assist with catering events and comfort carts
• Operate an industrial dishwasher and wash pots, pans, knives, and utensils
• Restock beverage and food service areas
• Assist the Chef with food deliveries, ordering, and proper storage
• Break down food service stations after meals
• Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, refrigerators, floors, and other kitchen areas
• Remove trash and maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen
• Perform other duties as assigned
