Established in 2023, The Gate Golf Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to golf and creating a lasting impact on the Southwest Florida community. Scheduled to open in late 2026, The Gate will feature:

  • Oakwood Grill - 175-seat freestanding full-service restaurant
  • The Pavilion Bar
  • The Gimme - quick service restaurant
  • The Bays - 30-bay state-of-the-art practice range with Trackman technology
  • The Gater 18-hole putting course
  • Jacobsen-Hardy designed 9-hole regulation-length golf course

The Gate is designed to make golf more accessible to families and players of all skill levels, while providing high-quality golf and hospitality experiences at affordable rates.

Position Overview

The server assistant is responsible for supporting the Pavilion service team and helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. This role works closely with servers, hosts, bartenders, and management to ensure that guests receive efficient and attentive service throughout their experience.

Responsibilities include clearing and resetting bays, delivering food and beverages, maintaining service stations, assisting with guest requests, and supporting the overall flow of The Pavilion and The Bays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support servers and other front-of-house team members in providing efficient and attentive guest service.
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables and bays promptly and according to standards.
  • Assist with delivering food, beverages, and additional items to guests as needed.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked bays and service stations.
  • Assist with setting tables, polishing glassware and silverware, and preparing for service.
  • Monitor the Pavilion and Bays and proactively assist guests and service staff when needed.
  • Refill water, bread, condiments, napkins, and other guest or service items as appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management.
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the Pavilion complex during service.
  • Respond to guest requests in a friendly and professional manner and involve a manager when appropriate.
  • Follow all sanitation, food-safety, cleanliness, and operational standards.
  • Complete opening, closing, side-work, and cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Assist the team during high-volume periods to maintain smooth and efficient service.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
Requirements:
  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive, helpful attitude.
  • Ability to work efficiently and remain organized in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with servers, hosts, kitchen staff, bartenders, and management.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and willing to take direction.
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of guests and fellow team members.
  • Willingness to learn procedures, service standards, and menu offerings.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry items for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely carry plates, trays, glassware, and other restaurant items.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and guest service.
