Referral and Intake Specialist in Toledo, Ohio at RFS Charitable Foundation

RFS Behavioral Health is seeking an organized, compassionate, and customer-focused Intake Specialist to join our team.

The Intake Specialist plays an important role in helping clients move from their initial referral to receiving behavioral health services. You’ll help coordinate the intake process, collect essential information, verify Medicaid coverage, coordinate assessments, and make sure time-sensitive documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.

• Coordinate and help expedite the intake process from referral through treatment
• Collect demographic and other required client information
• Communicate with therapists, case managers, and other team members
• Assign and follow up on client assessments
• Complete Medicaid verification
• Help streamline intake documentation and processes
• Monitor time-sensitive documentation for compliance
• Assist with staff training as needed
• Prepare weekly reports for executive leadership
• Support agency initiatives and special projects
• Maintain professional, confidential, and compliant practices in accordance with agency policies and applicable requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Two years of related, progressively responsible experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
• Strong customer-service skills
• Professional phone etiquette and communication skills
• Strong organization and time-management abilities
• Attention to detail
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
• Ability to learn new software systems
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
• Professionalism, discretion, and confidence communicating with others

You’ll be part of a behavioral health organization where your work directly supports the client experience. Although this isn't a direct-care position, your work helps determine how quickly and smoothly someone gets connected to the services they need.

This is a primarily office-based position and works closely with agency leadership and members of the clinical team.
