Maintenance Assistant in Chatfield, Minnesota at Tuohy Furniture Corporation

The Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Department in maintaining, repairing, and servicing manufacturing equipment, facility systems, tools, and machinery. This position performs routine and basic maintenance tasks while assisting Maintenance Technicians and other skilled personnel with more complex repairs and troubleshooting.

The Maintenance Assistant is expected to develop mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and general maintenance skills through hands-on experience and training. The position works under the direction of experienced maintenance personnel and follows established safety, maintenance, and operating procedures.

This Position would be Monday - Thursday 5am - 3:30pm - 40 hours per week.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn skilled maintenance trades.
• Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work effectively with Maintenance Technicians, supervisors, and production employees.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.

• Previous manufacturing, maintenance, construction, automotive, agricultural, or skilled-trade experience.
• Technical school or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanics, electrical, welding, HVAC, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
• Welding or fabrication experience.
