This position is 2nd shift (3pm-11pm)

JOB DESCRIPTION/TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:

  • Need someone capable of watching over test cells in a manufacturing environment. When a machine fails, need to leverage previous experience and schematics to troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems on our products. Will need to be able to perform hands on tasks to verify machine is functioning properly.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hydraulic troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose issues involving pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, pressure controls, leaks, and fluid contamination.
  • Electrical troubleshooting: Ability to test and repair industrial electrical systems, including wiring, switches, relays, contactors, sensors, motors, solenoids, and control circuits.
  • Schematic interpretation: Strong ability to read hydraulic diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and product documentation.
  • Diagnostic testing: Proficiency with multimeters, pressure gauges, test equipment, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude: Understanding of mechanical assemblies, power transmission, fasteners, tolerances, and machine operation.
  • Hands-on repair: Ability to safely replace components, adjust equipment, make connections, perform minor repairs, and reassemble systems.
  • Functional verification: Ability to run equipment after repairs, confirm correct operation, identify abnormal behavior, and document test results.
  • Preventive maintenance: Familiarity with inspection routines, lubrication, calibration, fluid checks, and early signs of component failure.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent working experience
  • Master's degree is overqualified
  • 2-4 years of industry experience
  • Experience with hydraulics and/or electrical systems is required

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read schematics
  • Ability to perform hands on tasks
  • Mechanical aptitude

58,000 - 63,000 USD per year(Decatur, IL)
