Surgical Tech Trainee in Keene, New Hampshire at Cheshire Medical Center

Participates as a learner in the D-H Surgical Technologist Training Program. During this 11-month, full-time training program, Trainees will attend didactic and clinical classes and labs in order to learn how to prepare for surgery, set up surgical instruments and equipment, assist in surgery and maintain surgical suites. Trainees will operate under the guidance and instruction of the Program Faculty and Certified staff members. Learns to perform tasks of a surgical technologist while preparing for the national certification exam. The Surgical Technologist Trainee is a temporary role for those actively enrolled in the D-H WRI program. Upon successful completion trainees transition to apprentices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Participation in the program selection process.
• Demonstrated strong communication, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work well as a member of a team.
• Must be willing to complete all class activities and assignments as scheduled which may include evenings and weekends.

Required Licensure/Certification Skills:

• Current BLS certification during the training program is required.
• Registered with the New Hampshire Board of Registration for Medical Technicians during the program.
