Description:
HTI is recruiting an experienced Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician for an international power transformer manufacturing company at their plant in the Augusta, GA area. This company offers great benefits and opportunities for growth!
Hourly pay rate: $28.00 - $36.75/hour, depending on experience and education
Location: Waynesboro, GA
Working hours: Mon-Fri from 6:30am-3:00pm
Status: Onsite, full-time, direct hire position
Summary:
The Maintenance Technician assists with the installation, troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of specialized manufacturing and testing equipment This role’s focus is on minimizing downtime, ensuring core production lines operate safely and efficiently. The individual should have a demonstrated track record of success in a manufacturing equipment maintenance role, with experience performing maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, and PLCs.
Production machinery in this plant includes winding and potting machines used to form copper and aluminum into coils for power transformers. Other machinery includes VPI (Vacuum Pressure Impregnation) processing equipment, with 4 VPI ovens and 6 cast resin ovens. These machines are used to preheat the metal coils, dry the metal by removing moisture, apply an epoxy resin that insulates the coils, and to cure the resin.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in a Multi-Craft Maintenance role within the manufacturing industry
- Experience in a plant that manufactured copper, aluminum, or other metal components is a plus; experience with VPI systems/ovens and cast resin ovens is also a plus
- Must have high school diploma or GED; a Technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or Mechatronics is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing equipment blueprints, schematics, work instructions, and machinery manuals
- Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Good organization and verbal/written communication skills
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Manual dexterity required for operating and repairing machinery
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Track record of success in performing maintenance in a safe and efficient manner to minimize production downtime
- Must be local to the greater Augusta, GA area and able to commute to the Waynesboro, GA location
Job Duties:
- Adhere to plant safety requirements and policies.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance work on various equipment and systems, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and PLCs.
- Perform required maintenance by reading and interpreting equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on production machines and equipment.
- Diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, perform testing and make adjustments.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment to perform duties.
- Document all maintenance work, update and close out work orders, track all parts used, and ensure that all tools are maintained and tracked properly.
- Other job duties as assigned.
