Job Description
TMRW Sports is seeking a Vice President, Venue Operations – Flag Football to lead the strategic and operational management of the league’s primary competition venue and surrounding campus. Reporting to the President, Flag Football, this leader will oversee all venue operations, facilities, engineering, capital projects, event execution, guest experience, safety, and revenue optimization initiatives supporting the Flag Football league.
This role serves as the senior venue leader responsible for delivering a world-class experience for athletes, fans, partners, broadcasters, and employees while ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and long-term asset stewardship. The VP will build and lead high-performing teams, manage critical vendor and stakeholder relationships, and drive venue utilization through league and non-league programming.
Responsibilities:
Venue Operations & Event Execution
- Provide executive leadership for all venue operations, ensuring readiness for Flag Football games, league events, and third-party programming
- Develop and execute operational strategies that deliver exceptional experiences for players, fans, sponsors, partners, media, and VIP guests
- Partner closely with internal Event Operations, Broadcast, Technology, Competition, Partnerships, and Guest Experience teams to deliver seamless event execution
- Oversee venue technology infrastructure and operational systems that support game presentation, guest experience, and event operations
- Lead and develop venue operations personnel, including full-time staff, event staff, and vendor partners
Facility Management & Engineering
- Oversee all building systems, facility engineering functions, and preventative maintenance programs to ensure world-class venue performance
- Maintain responsibility for facility reliability, infrastructure performance, asset management, and operational sustainability
- Partner with engineering, facility management, operations, guest services, security, and housekeeping leadership teams to ensure optimal venue operations
- Ensure the venue and campus consistently meet the highest standards of appearance, cleanliness, functionality, and safety
Vendor & Strategic Partner Management
- Establish and manage relationships with key operational service providers, including:
- Operations teams
- Engineering teams
- Facility management partners
- Event operations vendors
- Guest services providers
- Security leadership
- Housekeeping leadership
- Manage procurement processes, service contracts, vendor performance metrics, and contract compliance
- Negotiate and oversee major operating agreements that support venue operations and long-term business objectives
Capital Projects & Asset Management
- Lead all capital improvement projects, facility upgrades, and long-term maintenance planning for the venue and surrounding campus
- Develop and oversee:
- Capital planning initiatives
- Building systems improvements
- Preventative maintenance programs
- Deferred maintenance strategies
- Renovation projects
- Infrastructure enhancements
- Manage long-term asset replacement planning to protect and maximize facility investments
Strategic Revenue & Business Growth
- Partner with commercial and internal stakeholders to maximize venue utilization and drive revenue growth through year-round programming and ancillary revenue opportunities
- Build and maintain a robust event pipeline that expands the venue's business beyond league competition
- Develop strategies that increase revenue, profitability, and overall venue performance.
- Evaluate new business opportunities and venue programming concepts
- Collaborate with Partnerships, Premium Hospitality, Merchandising, and Commercial teams to create incremental revenue streams
Financial Leadership
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, including long-term asset replacement planning
- Drive financial accountability, cost control, forecasting, and long-range planning initiatives
- Conduct business and margin analysis to evaluate venue operations and event opportunities
- Provide strategic recommendations regarding investments, operating efficiencies, and growth opportunities
Safety, Security & Crisis Management
- Maintain compliance with all OSHA, ADA, fire code, health, life safety, and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain Emergency Action Plans (EAPs)
- Lead tabletop exercises and emergency response drills
- Coordinate closely with local police, fire, EMS, and emergency management agencies
- Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans
- Serve as Incident Commander during major events and emergency situations
- Lead emergency preparedness planning, incident management protocols, and business continuity initiatives
- Create, maintain, and enforce venue policies, procedures, operational standards, and crisis management plans
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Engineering, Facility Management, Hospitality, or a related field
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in venue operations, stadiums, arenas, convention centers, sports facilities, or large public assembly venues
- Significant experience leading multi-functional venue operations teams and third-party service providers
- Proven success managing operating budgets, capital budgets, and large-scale capital improvement projects
- Strong knowledge of facility engineering, building systems, preventative maintenance, and asset management planning
- Experience negotiating and managing complex vendor, service, and operating agreements
- Experience developing emergency preparedness, life safety, and business continuity programs
- Ability to lead large cross-functional teams and influence executive stakeholders
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to support league and venue operations
Preferred:
- Master's degree (MBA) or related advanced degree
- Experience opening, renovating, or expanding a sports or entertainment venue
- Experience driving venue utilization, non-game event programming, and ancillary revenue growth
- Knowledge of venue technology systems and facility development best practices
- Experience building and scaling operations within a high-growth, startup, or emerging sports property environment
