Position Summary
The Vice President of Human Resources serves as the senior leader responsible for the strategic direction, organizational development, workforce planning, employee relations oversight, culture initiatives, leadership support, and operational effectiveness of the People & Culture function at Goodman Community Center.

Reporting directly to the President and providing leadership to the HR Business Partner and Human Resources Assistant positions, this role is critical to ensuring the organization maintains:

This role is critical to ensuring the organization maintains strong workforce systems, leadership accountability, organizational culture, employee development, workforce sustainability, and legal compliance while supporting mission-aligned operations and long-term organizational effectiveness.
Requirements:Essential Responsibilities
Executive Leadership & Organizational Strategy
- Serve as a member of the executive leadership team
- Lead workforce planning and organizational staffing strategy
- Provide executive leadership consultation regarding organizational structure, workforce planning, leadership effectiveness, employee relations, and organizational risk
- Lead organizational performance management, accountability, and work performance measurement frameworks
- Lead organizational culture, values, and mission alignment strategy
- Lead organizational change management initiatives
- Lead succession planning and high-potential employee development initiatives
- Develop employee and leadership development strategies
- Conduct workforce risk assessments and organizational climate monitoring
- Lead cross-functional operational planning and organizational alignment initiatives
- Develop organizational structure recommendations
- Lead HR process design and continuous improvement initiatives across the employee lifecycle
- Lead alignment between workforce practices, program leadership, and mission-based employment initiatives
- Ensure workforce strategies align with organizational mission and participant outcomes
Employee Relations & Leadership Support
- Provide leadership coaching and strategic support to organizational leaders
- Lead escalated employee relations matters and workplace investigations
- Serve as the primary organizational liaison for employment counsel and workforce-related legal matters
- Support leadership communication effectiveness during organizational change and workforce initiatives
- Lead annual organizational performance appraisal and compensation review processes
- Lead compensation strategy, pay equity review, benchmarking analysis, and compensation recommendations
Organizational Operations & Compliance Oversight
- Oversee HR policy and SOP governance
- Review workforce analytics, executive reporting, turnover analysis, and staffing trends
- Lead HR budget planning and workforce forecasting activities
- Oversee HRIS vendor relationships and People & Culture vendor partnerships
- Ensure organizational compliance with employment laws, labor regulations, leave administration requirements, and workforce-related compliance standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master's degree is preferred
- Minimum 7 years of progressive HR or organizational leadership experience
- Experience with employee relations, organizational development, workforce planning, and compliance oversight
- Professional HR certification required
