Job Description
Group Merchandising Coordinator @ Bandon Dunes Golf Resort
As the Group Merchandise Coordinator at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, you'll be the go-to person for groups looking to commemorate their golf trip with custom merchandise. You'll reach out to incoming groups, help them design the perfect gear for their outing, and coordinate everything from ordering to delivery. Your attention to detail and sales skills will directly impact how groups remember their Bandon experience—turning a great golf trip into something they can wear, gift, and talk about for years.
About Bandon Dunes Golf Resort:
Bandon Dunes is a world-class golf resort located on the Oregon Coast near the charming community of Bandon. Guests come to experience golf as it was meant to be at Bandon Dunes' six distinct golf courses. That includes five 18-hole courses, which all rank among the top 16 public courses in the United States, according to Golf Digest. The resort also has an award-winning par-3 course, Bandon Preserve, and the new Shorty's opened in 2024. The two short courses are 'Courses with a Mission,' with all net proceeds funding the Bandon Dunes Charitable Foundation. The Foundation supports communities along the South Coast of Oregon.
Beyond premier golf, guests delight in various dining options at Bandon Dunes’ collection of restaurants. Whether you're looking to enjoy locally sourced, Pacific-Northwest cuisine accompanied by an award-winning wine list or prefer kicking back in a Scottish-style setting with traditional pub fare and local microbrews, there is something for everyone.
Working at Bandon Dunes is a dream for golf fans, outdoor enthusiasts, and hospitality professionals alike. The Bandon Dunes team works together to create trips of a lifetime for our guests. We are passionate stewards of our resort, community, and environment. As an endlessly curious group, we ask questions, share ideas, and always look for a better way. With a hard-working attitude, we help guide our guests through their pure golf experience, immersed in Oregon’s natural beauty and away from the demands of daily life.
What You'll Do:- Build relationships with groups before they arrive. You'll proactively reach out to incoming tournament directors, event planners, and group leaders to offer custom merchandise options. This isn't order-taking—you're creating excitement and helping them envision what their group could have.
- Coordinate the entire merchandise process. From initial conversation to final delivery, you'll manage it all. That means understanding our product options, processing orders, coordinating with vendors, collecting payments, and making sure gift bags get to the right rooms at the right time.
- Support major tournaments and events. You'll work closely with our Directors of Golf to coordinate gift packages for Bandon's major tournaments, building and delivering gift bags that make players feel special.
- Keep detailed records. You'll track orders, manage quarterly inventory reconciliations, maintain clear notes on every customer interaction, and ensure billing is accurate. Organization matters when you're juggling multiple groups with different needs.
- Solve problems and exceed expectations. When a group has a last-minute request or something doesn't go as planned, you'll figure it out. You're resourceful and guest-focused, always looking for ways to enhance their gifting experience.
- You're comfortable with sales and customer service. You don't wait for orders to come in—you reach out, build rapport, and help groups see possibilities they hadn't considered. A year of retail or merchandising experience helps, especially if it's in golf or hospitality.
- You're organized and detail-oriented. Managing multiple group orders with different timelines, preferences, and delivery needs requires someone who can juggle competing priorities without dropping the ball. You keep clear notes and stay on top of deadlines.
- You communicate well. You'll be on the phone and email constantly, so you need to write clearly and speak professionally. You're comfortable answering questions, making suggestions, and working through details with everyone from tournament directors to individual guests.
- You know your way around Microsoft Office. Excel, Word, and Outlook are your friends. You don't need to be a spreadsheet wizard, but you should be comfortable tracking orders, creating invoices, and managing your workflow digitally.
- You can handle the physical side of the job. This isn't just desk work—you'll be building gift bags, delivering merchandise to rooms, and occasionally lifting boxes up to 30 lbs. You're on your feet and moving around, not stuck behind a computer all day.
- Comprehensive Benefits Package: Enjoy a well-rounded benefits package that covers your health, wellness, and financial future.
- Paid Time Off: Take the time you need to relax and recharge with our PTO plan.
- Free Golf Privileges: Tee off at some of the most iconic courses in the world with complimentary golf access.
- Quarterly Incentives: When our team meets resort-wide performance goals, we get rewarded.
- Complimentary Lunch: Stay energized with a complimentary lunch in our Staff Cafe during your shift.
- Resort Discounts: Save on dining and merchandise throughout the resort.
- Supportive Work Environment: Be part of a team that supports your growth and success, with opportunities to thrive in a collaborative atmosphere.
- Career Growth: Take advantage of continuous training and development opportunities to advance your career.
If you're someone who loves connecting with people, takes pride in the details, and wants to help create memorable experiences for golf groups, we'd like to hear from you. This role reports to our Group Merchandise Manager and offers the chance to be part of something special on the Oregon Coast. We encourage you to apply even if you don't check every box—we value potential and attitude as much as experience.
At Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
