Position Title: Senior Communications Manager

Division: Communications & PR

OVERVIEW OF POSITION

This position will lead the communications strategy and earned media efforts across key client programs. The Senior Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and executing PR strategies that amplify the impact of experiential activations and brand campaigns, ensuring each program generates meaningful coverage, builds brand equity, and reaches the right audiences. In this role, the Senior Communications Manager will work closely with clients, creative teams, and production staff to align messaging, manage press relationships, and deliver on the communications goals of each program. This role will work across multiple brands and projects simultaneously.

SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead the development and execution of PR and communications strategies across experiential events, brand campaigns, and integrated activations

- Serve as the primary communications lead for 4–6 concurrent client accounts, acting as a strategic partner on all earned media activity

- Build and maintain media lists, cultivate journalist and editor relationships, and secure proactive press coverage across print, digital, and broadcast

- Manage all press logistics for activations including embargoes, media credentialing, on-site press access, and spokesperson preparation and briefing

- Collaborate with the production and creative teams from day one to embed communications strategy into the overall program plan

- Coordinate activation timing and announcement windows to maximize earned media impact

- Draft and distribute press materials including press releases, media alerts, talking points, and post-event coverage reports

- Manage influencer and content creator relationships in partnership with clients and talent agencies

- Monitor and track press coverage across all programs; compile post-campaign PR reports and surface insights for clients

- Liaise with client communications and marketing teams to ensure message alignment and brand consistency

- Support new business pitches by contributing communications strategy and PR credentials

- Mentor junior communications staff and coordinate with the broader project management team on shared deliverables

- Work with Episode.1 leadership team to support overall agency growth and maximize efficiencies

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

- 7+ years of experience in PR, communications, or earned media — agency experience strongly preferred

- Proven track record securing press coverage for experiential activations, live events, or brand campaigns

- Established relationships with journalists, editors, and publicists across relevant verticals (culture, lifestyle, brand, marketing trade press)

- Strong understanding of how experiential and live events generate earned media, and how to build programs that are press-worthy by design

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — outstanding writer of press materials, client presentations, and coverage reports

- Experience managing influencer and talent relationships as part of integrated campaigns

- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and communications workstreams simultaneously across concurrent accounts

- Must possess a strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment

- Comfortable working closely with production, creative, and client-facing teams in a collaborative agency setting

- Daily use of Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint, along with Google Cloud Suite and Keynote

- Ability to travel (a minimum of 25%) and work non-traditional hours based on program schedules
