Position Summary
Contributes to the efficient daily operation of Hotel Gift Shop by maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting efficient inventory control operations. Monitors stock levels, tracks inventory movement, reconciles discrepancies, and maintains inventory control procedures in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel. Provides customer service support, including assisting guests at checkout when needed. Maintains professionalism in all interactions with internal and external customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains accurate inventory records by monitoring stock levels, receiving merchandise, and tracking inventory movement.
- Conducts regular inventory counts and reconciles discrepancies in inventory data.
- Supports loss prevention efforts by monitoring inventory handling procedures and reporting concerns.
- Reports inventory variances, damaged merchandise, or stock shortages to management promptly.
- Assists with receiving shipments, verifying quantities, and stocking merchandise.
- Maintains inventory organization and storage areas to ensure merchandise is properly labeled and secured.
- Acknowledges guests in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner, offering assistance with merchandise as requested.
- Assists customers in selecting and purchasing merchandise.
- Operates Point of Sale transactions accurately and efficiently; processes payments, returns, and exchanges.
- Attends and participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings and company training.
- Contributes to the department goals by participating in a team effort to accomplish related results as required.
- Assists with occasional events, concerts, artist visits, presentations, etc. that may occur on and/or off property.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Goals, objectives, functions, policies, and procedures of Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel.
- Applicable federal, state, tribal, and gaming laws, regulations, requirements, and principles.
- Inventory control and stock management practices.
- Cash handling procedures.

- Basic recordkeeping and reporting procedures.
Skill in:
- Operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment.
- Operating Point of Sale systems.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior retail, inventory control, merchandising, or cashier service experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license is required when driving vehicles for work-related purposes.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background screening / investigation according to the established requirements below.
Tribal and Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS
- Must be able to submit supporting documentation of education and training to support qualifications.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license in good standing according to licensing rules and regulations.
- Must obtain and maintain a driver's license and qualify for insurance coverage on company vehicles.
Background Investigation Requirements
- Pre-employment drug screen.

- Federal, state, and/or tribal criminal history and sanction checks including fingerprint verification.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, touch, or grasp; and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to sit; reach with hands or arms; use a computer and cellphone/telephone; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and lift up to 50 pounds. The employee may rarely climb or balance; lift or move up to 100 pounds; and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee frequently is exposed to dust, fumes, airborne particles, allergens, and second-hand smoke. On occasion, the incumbent may be exposed to excessive noise; and hostile, offensive, and / or violent individuals.
Work Environment
Work is generally performed in a casino gift shop setting with a moderate noise level. Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common. Travel may be required for training, meetings, conferences, presentations, and other events.
