Job Description:
The Director of Parts is responsible for leading and overseeing the Parts Department at Ferrari of Newport Beach. This position is responsible for maximizing profitability and return on dealer investment while maintaining exceptional inventory control, operational efficiency, customer service, and support for the dealership's service and sales operations.
The Director of Parts will accomplish these objectives through effective purchasing, inventory management, staffing, pricing, security, reporting, and financial controls. The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on leader with a strong understanding of automotive Parts operations, inventory management, and dealership profitability.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute departmental goals and strategies to maximize profitability, productivity, inventory performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead, hire, train, motivate, and manage Parts Department personnel while maintaining a high-performance team environment.
- Prepare and manage the annual Parts Department budget and monitor financial performance.
- Manage inventory levels, purchasing, stock orders, special orders, and emergency orders to maximize availability while minimizing obsolescence.
- Monitor inventory turnover, lost sales, gross profit, expenses, and other key performance metrics to achieve department objectives.
- Establish pricing strategies and purchasing procedures that maximize profitability while maintaining competitive pricing and customer loyalty.
- Oversee wholesale, retail, and internal Parts sales while developing programs and promotions to increase revenue and profitability.
- Ensure efficient shipping, receiving, documentation, and Parts processing procedures.
- Partner with Service and Fixed Operations leadership to ensure timely availability of Parts and efficient repair-order flow.
- Work closely with Accounting to ensure accurate inventory reconciliation, billing, receivables, claims, credits, and month-end reporting.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, Parts locations, and dealership management system information.
- Establish and maintain strong customer-service standards while promptly addressing customer concerns and complaints.
- Monitor department staffing, payroll, workflow, and overall operational efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and safe Parts Department while enforcing applicable OSHA and safety requirements.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and represent the Ferrari brand with the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
Skills/Education required to perform the role:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree or technical education preferred.
- 4+ years of automotive Parts management or related dealership experience preferred.
- Proven leadership experience managing Parts operations, personnel, inventory, and profitability.
- Strong understanding of automotive Parts purchasing, inventory control, pricing, wholesale operations, and dealership financial reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage inventory levels while minimizing obsolescence and maximizing turnover.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
- Ability to analyze financial and operational reports and develop strategies to improve department performance.
- Strong computer and dealership management system skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic, professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of Ferrari Parts operations and luxury/exotic automotive brands is preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive service software and dealership systems; knowledge of Tekion is preferred.
Pay: $70,304 annually + commission
