Position Summary
-
Medical Records handles functions within the Medical Oncology practices. Initiates medical charts, collects and organizes medical records. Works closely with the front office personnel, providers, and clinical staff. Obtains all medical record information pertinent to the patients’ chart. Works closely with CBO, insurance companies and all other entities to provide requested EMR information. Scanning and Indexing medical records. Maintain the ordering of office supplies.

Core Job Functions
-
Prepares records accurately to ensure timely access by authorized persons. Monitors chart for additional work assignments. Organizes and stores records appropriately to establish easy access for clinical personnel. This includes document and batch scanning medical records in the EMR.

Documents within EMR and hospital charting system. Accept and process hospital consults and deliver to specified provider via text and or email. Ensures appropriate referral information obtained and register as needed.

Provides clinical information to third party commercial payers as needed for payment justification.

Adheres to the release of patient information and is compliant with HIPAA regulations. Releases protected health information in an efficient manner to appropriate parties.
- Pick up and distribute office mail, prepare outgoing mail with postage as needed. Pick up documents from providers offices to scan and or shred..
