Summerhill Market is looking for an experienced, creative and hands-on Floral Manager to join our team. We are currently hiring for two Floral Manager opportunities at our Forest Hill and Rosedale locations.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves floral, has a strong eye for merchandising and presentation, and knows how to balance creativity with the operational side of running a successful department.

As Floral Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day operation and presentation of the Floral Department, including:

• Lead, coach, schedule and support the Floral team.
• Create beautiful bouquets, arrangements, planters, displays and seasonal floral offerings.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, including custom arrangements and special orders.
• Manage ordering, receiving, inventory, replenishment, rotation, markdowns, shrink and waste.
• Plan orders based on sales trends, seasonality, promotions and upcoming events.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and address product quality, availability, pricing and delivery concerns.
• Ensure the department is consistently fresh, full, organized and visually impactful.
• Create and refresh displays using thoughtful product placement, colour and seasonal merchandising.
• Plan and execute key floral programs for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and other seasonal occasions.
• Monitor department performance, including sales, margins, labour, inventory and waste.
• Recruit, onboard, train and develop Floral team members.
• Maintain clean, organized and safe displays, coolers, workspaces and storage areas.
• Partner with Store Management, Marketing, Purchasing and other departments on promotions, merchandising and seasonal initiatives.
• Support Front-End operations and act as Lead on Duty (LOD) as scheduled.
• Provide hands-on support throughout the store when required.

We’re looking for someone who is creative, commercially minded and comfortable being hands-on in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Previous floral, grocery, retail, garden centre or related experience.
• Floral design and product knowledge strongly preferred.
• Experience with inventory management, ordering, rotation, shrink and waste control.
• Strong merchandising skills and a creative eye for colour, presentation and seasonal displays.
• Previous leadership or management experience is an asset.
• Strong customer service, communication and organizational skills.
• Understanding of sales, margins, labour, inventory and overall department profitability.
• Proactive, organized and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable supporting Front-End and broader store operations as needed.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays and key floral seasons.
