Exclusion/Specialty Service Manager - Pest Control in Austin, Texas at Barefoot Mosquito & Pest Control LLC

Most pest control companies walk away from tile roofs, metal roofs, and steep pitches. We don’t intend to. Barefoot Mosquito & Pest Control is building a skilled exclusion division that rodent-proofs homes, removes wildlife, and makes sure they can’t get back in, on every kind of roof, done safely and done right the first time.

We’re looking for an Exclusion Manager who has worked on these surfaces, knows how to do it safely, and can teach others to do the same. You’ll lead our exclusion technicians across multiple markets, own their training and safety, and turn exclusion into one of the most efficient and profitable services we offer.

• Lead, develop, and hold accountable all exclusion technicians across Barefoot’s markets
• Develop and standardize safe exclusion methods for metal roofs, Spanish barrel tile roofs, and steep-pitch roofs
• Classify jobs as Standard or Difficult and decide crew size for each job
• Build a single-technician installation model for Standard jobs, backed by the right equipment and training
• Build and deliver initial training and certification for every new exclusion technician
• Run ongoing training in Barefoot’s exclusion process and all OSHA-required training, including fall protection, ladder safety, PPE, and Hazard Communication
• Build labor time standards for exclusion jobs so every job is estimated and scheduled accurately
• Hold technicians to their scheduled arrival windows, estimated hours, and scheduled completion dates
• Track time on site, materials, and labor cost on every job, and report job margin weekly
• Work with estimators and inspectors so pricing reflects the real time and materials each job requires
• Travel to other markets to support surge volume, lead Difficult jobs, and train local teams
• Perform exclusion and wildlife work yourself when the schedule demands it
• Own exclusion materials, ladders, harnesses, anchors, and fall protection equipment, including inspection and replacement
• Monitor driving safety for your team through Samsara and coach accordingly

• Schedule adherence and actual hours versus estimated hours
• Accurate time and materials recorded on every job, with margin reported weekly
• Tile and metal roofs moved from “disqualified” to “serviceable”
• Low reinfestation and warranty callback rates
• Training completion and technician retention

• 5+ years of hands-on exclusion, wildlife control, roofing, or related construction experience
• Proven experience working safely on metal, tile, and steep-pitch roofs
• Working knowledge of personal fall arrest systems, roof anchors, and ladder stabilization equipment
• 2+ years leading field crews or technicians, including training and performance management
• Comfort with numbers: labor hours, material costs, and job margin
• A problem solver’s mindset: when someone says a job can’t be done, you figure out how it can be done safely
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Ability to travel 40–50% of the time, including overnight stays
• Comfort using mobile apps and software for scheduling, job notes, and reporting

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
• Texas Department of Agriculture Structural Pest Control license, or ability to obtain one
• Experience with tile roof repair or installation, including lifting and resetting barrel tile
• Experience with metal roof installation, trim, and closures
• Knowledge of Texas Parks and Wildlife rules for nuisance wildlife
• Experience with FieldRoutes or similar field service software
• Background in wildlife control, roofing, gutter, or solar installation companies

• Regularly climb, carry, and set up extension ladders up to 32 feet
• Work at heights on pitched roofs while wearing fall protection
• Work in attics, crawl spaces, and tight areas
• Lift and carry up to 75 pounds
• Work outdoors in Texas heat and weather conditions
• Handle wildlife and work around animal waste using proper PPE

This is a builder’s role. You won’t be maintaining someone else’s program; you’ll create the methods, the training, and the team that make Barefoot the company that says yes to the jobs everyone else turns down. If you’ve been on the roofs other people won’t climb, and you know how to do it safely, we want to talk to you.
