Job Description

Senior DevOps Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer based in Canada.

This role is centered on building and evolving the core infrastructure that powers a large-scale, mission-critical healthcare platform used by thousands of providers and millions of patients.
You will be responsible for designing and operating highly scalable Kubernetes-based environments that support reliable and secure software delivery.
The position plays a key role in enabling fast, automated, and safe deployments through modern CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.
You will work at the intersection of platform engineering and cloud automation, ensuring systems are resilient, observable, and performance-driven.
A strong focus is placed on leveraging modern AI-augmented development tools to accelerate infrastructure and delivery workflows.
You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to remove friction in the development lifecycle and improve overall delivery efficiency.
This is a high-impact role in a fast-moving environment where reliability, automation, and innovation are essential.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable automated, fast, and reliable software delivery across environments.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or similar tools to ensure reproducible and version-controlled environments.
  • Manage observability systems including monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure system health and reliability.
  • Integrate security and compliance best practices into infrastructure, particularly in regulated healthcare environments.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows to improve automation and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development and platform teams to improve deployment processes and eliminate delivery bottlenecks.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and performance issues across distributed cloud environments.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure-focused roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, troubleshooting, cluster management).
  • Proficiency with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, or Go.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, and container security.
  • Demonstrated fluency with AI-assisted development tools and modern agentic workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills in collaborative environments.
  • Experience with Git-based workflows and version control systems.
  • Experience in regulated environments (healthcare, EMR, PHIPA/PIPEDA) or observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience, up to $150,000 CAD.
  • Remote-first work model within Canada.
  • Opportunity to work on a large-scale healthcare platform with national and international impact.
  • Strong focus on modern engineering practices including AI-augmented development and automation.
  • Exposure to advanced cloud-native technologies and platform engineering patterns.
  • Collaborative, high-performing engineering culture focused on continuous improvement.
