This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing Microsoft Purview-based data security and compliance solutions across diverse client environments. You will play a key part in helping organizations strengthen their data protection posture through classification, information protection, and risk management capabilities. The position blends hands-on technical deployment with advisory responsibilities, requiring both deep platform expertise and strong client-facing communication skills. You will work on complex, enterprise-grade Microsoft 365 compliance projects spanning data governance, DLP, and insider risk use cases. The environment is highly collaborative, consulting-oriented, and centered on continuous improvement and innovation. You will also contribute to automation, reporting, and framework development to enhance scalability and operational maturity. This is a remote role with exposure to a wide range of industries and security challenges.
- Design, deploy, and optimize Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 compliance solutions across client environments.
- Implement data security controls including Information Protection, Data Classification, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Insider Risk Management.
- Develop and maintain compliance policies, automation workflows, and reporting frameworks tailored to client requirements.
- Assess data security maturity and provide recommendations for improving governance and compliance posture.
- Build dashboards and executive-level reporting to communicate compliance status, risks, and trends.
- Support integration of Microsoft Purview with broader Microsoft 365 security and compliance ecosystems.
- Deliver hands-on technical implementation work, including sensitivity labels, retention policies, and governance configurations.
- Participate in client engagements, including pre-sales support, solution scoping, and technical demonstrations.
- Contribute to internal documentation, knowledge sharing, and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance deployment practices and operational efficiency.
- 3+ years of experience implementing security and compliance technologies in enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Purview, including DLP, Information Protection, Insider Risk Management, and Data Classification.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 compliance center and configuring governance solutions.
- Solid understanding of data governance principles and Zero Trust security concepts.
- Proficiency with PowerShell or similar scripting tools for automation and compliance management.
- Experience implementing sensitivity labels, retention policies, and compliance rules.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support client-facing consulting engagements.
- Microsoft security/compliance certifications (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
- Experience with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or CCPA is a plus.
- Exposure to Microsoft Sentinel, E5 compliance features, or broader security ecosystems is highly desirable.
- Consulting or professional services experience is a plus.
