Job Title: Lead Plumbing Service Technician

Location: Seattle Metroplex

Reports To: Plumbing Service Manager

About the Role:

The Plumbing Service Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems with a strong focus on delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer care. This role is ideal for candidates with solid plumbing experience in residential and/or commercial settings who are motivated, dependable, and passionate about their trade.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive to customer location in a company vehicle, being sure to arrive on time for appointments, and present a professional image.
  • Diagnose plumbing issues independently and make repairs efficiently
  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, and equipment
  • Inspect and test plumbing systems for safety, functionality and code compliance
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to determine the layout of plumbing systems
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and pipe threading equipment effectively and safely
  • Collaborate with electricians, carpenters, and other trades to ensure accurate and coordinated installations
  • Handle customer queries and respond to dispatches
  • Prepare quotes and present to customers directly
  • Perform heavy lifting and manual labor as needed during plumbing projects
  • Conduct inspections and diagnostics to identify and resolve plumbing issues
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by listening to client needs and providing clear communication
  • Look for opportunities to increase sales on planned calls by using inspection checklists and asking questions of customers

Schedule/Working Conditions

  • Full-time
  • Rotating on-call schedule (evenings/weekends)
  • Work is performed out of the office, throughout the metro/service area of the assigned operating company. Work environment may be indoors or outdoors, in inclement weather, and temperature extremes
  • Able to stand, walk, sit, use hands for manual dexterity tasks, kneel, climb, balance, bend, stoop, crawl, talk, hear, see, and perform physical labor throughout the day
  • Continually required to lift/push/carry items more than 50 pounds
  • Continually exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)
  • Continually work near moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally work in high, precarious places
  • Frequently work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
  • Continually exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Frequently exposed to extreme heat or cold (non-weather)
  • Frequently exposed to blood borne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
  • Frequently exposed to loud noise (examples: large earth-moving equipment and/or jack hammer work)

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in residential and/or commercial plumbing with in-depth knowledge of service plumbing techniques and tools and familiarity with a wide range of plumbing equipment and safety practices
  • Proven background as a Plumbing Technician or similar role
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong critical thinking and diagnostic skills. Must be capable of troubleshooting, diagnosing, and explaining all problems and options to the client
  • Must be capable of performing a thorough and accurate plumbing inspection and communicating findings to the client
  • Must own your own hand tools
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments
  • Basic math skills for measuring and estimating materials. Ability to perform calculations necessary for plumbing work as well as calculations necessary for invoicing purposes
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work in close spaces
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to drive a company vehicle
  • Drug-free and able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen
  • Motivated, professional, and committed to excellence in every job
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow maps and/or GPS directions
