Position Summary:The Dual Language and World Language Partner, in collaboration with the Manager of DualLanguage and World Language Pathways and other members of Language and CulturalServices, is responsible for delivering within their network high-quality instructional resources,enhancing classroom practices, and scaling effective programs to increase Tulsa PublicSchools students achievement and to prepare all students for success in college, career, andlife.The Dual Language and World Language Partner works with instructional leadership directors,school leaders, and teachers to provide leadership for dual language and world languagepathways in the district.
Key Functions:Serves as the dual language and world language pathways resource for assignedschools
Provides coaching, modeling, co-teaching, and observation to school teams
Engages in data-based strategic planning to support multilingual and academic growth
Delivers professional learning aligned to district instructional priorities
Serves as a liaison between schools and the district Language and Cultural Servicesdepartment
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree in education, English as a second language, bilingual education, orworld languages required; masters degree preferred
Experience:
Five (5) years experience in effective K-12 classroom teaching
Five (5) or more years of experience in English language development, bilingualeducation, dual language enrichment, or world language education
Licenses and Certifications:
Current Oklahoma teacher certification required
English as a second language endorsement or certification, world language certificationpreferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Embody and support the department in living Tulsa Public Schools core values Knowledge and understanding of curricular frameworks, pedagogy, lesson planning,standards analysis, and quality classroom materials for Multilingual Pathway programs
Deep knowledge of American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages standards,English language development standards, Spanish language development standards,learning, and assessment
Skill in implementing culturally responsive education practices
Familiarity with Tulsa Public Schools learning expectations and Dual Language andWorld Language Pathways approach
Ability to design and facilitate professional learning experiences aligned to Tulsa PublicSchools vision for professional learning
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, andOutlook; familiarity with Google Apps (G Suite) for Education
Effective time management and organizational skills
Effective communication skills in English and the target language, including written andoral fluency, grammar, and semantics
Strong attention to detail
A positive outlook, flexibility, and sense of possibility in stressful situations
Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines
The ability to take responsibility for ones own performance
Work collaboratively with others on a team
Maintain personal engagement in professional development that enables growth andimprovement for this position
Knowledge of effective teaching and learning practices to support multilingual learnersand students with disabilities is highly preferred
