Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic I, II, III

Job Function: Rebuild/Production

Reports To: Facility Equipment Maintenance Supervisor

Classification: Non-Exempt

Date Approved/Revised: May 8, 2026

Summary

With minimum supervision the Maintenance Mechanic I, provides technical and maintenance support to the production facility and maintains the forklift fleet. Works with the manufacturing and shipping teams, to ensure equipment uptime and availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Employee must be able to perform these essential functions of the position satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job, absent undue hardship.

  • Complies with all safety guidelines, wears task appropriate PPE. Performs safety inspections and documents findings along with assisting in developing corrective actions.
  • Attends daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime.
  • Safely operates cranes, power tools, hoists and hand tools.
  • Maintains accurate records using the CMMS system.
  • Ability to use measuring/diagnostics equipment for repair and Preventative Maintenance
  • Performs Preventative Maintenance on equipment throughout the plant ensuring correct and safe operation of equipment and machinery.
    • Troubleshoots and maintains engines, conveyors, electrical systems, CNC machines, pneumatic tools and hydraulic equipment. Requests replacement parts and performs repairs.
  • Maintains electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical knowledge via on-going training.
  • Required to drive forklift trucks and operate scissor lifts as needed.
  • Required to identify opportunities for improvements and submit in accordance with the Continuous Improvement Program.
  • Manages the workload effectively, in a timely and professional manner; Including being able to prioritize between several jobs at a time.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Acts as a team player in a changing environment.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with the requirements of the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System (when required).

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend and kneel on a regular basis.
  • Regular manual dexterity/coordination: hand/eye movements, motor control.
  • Occasional visual effort: concentrated reading of documentation or close viewing of computer displays.
  • Able to push, pull and lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.

Potential Hazards

  • Employee may be exposed to hazardous substances including a variety of petroleum-based products, cleaning solvents, etc. on a regular basis.
  • Employee may be exposed to sharp (cutting) tools on a regular basis.

Required Education/Experience/Skills

  • High School graduate, or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years industrial maintenance or heavy equipment experience.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and CNC equipment.
  • Comfortable with computers.
  • Capable of operating hand, power and specialized tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills

  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Certifications, Licensees or Registrations Required/Preferred

  • This position does not require any special certifications, licenses, or registrations.
