VP of Marketing, Brand & Corporate Communicat in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey at Hermann Forwarding

Position Summary

Hermann Services is seeking a visionary, results-driven executive to serve as our Vice President of Marketing, Brand & Corporate Communications. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this position is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and will be responsible for shaping the company’s brand strategy, corporate communications, marketing, public relations, customer engagement, and event management.

As Hermann approaches its historic 100-year anniversary, this executive will lead the evolution of one of the transportation and logistics industry’s most respected brands while helping position the company for its next century of growth.

This leader will develop and execute an enterprise-wide marketing and communications strategy that drives revenue growth, strengthens customer relationships, enhances employee engagement, and elevates Hermann’s reputation across the transportation, warehousing, brokerage, and supply chain industries.

The Vice President will partner closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to influence business strategy, support commercial growth initiatives, strengthen customer retention, and ensure the Hermann brand consistently reflects the company’s commitment to excellence.

While providing strategic leadership, this executive will also lead and develop an established marketing organization consisting of a Marketing Manager, Events Specialist, and Marketing & Social Media Specialist.

Executive Leadership Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of Hermann’s Executive Leadership Team, helping shape the company’s long-term strategic direction.
• Advise the CEO on branding, customer engagement, communications, market positioning, and competitive strategy.
• Develop the annual marketing and communications strategy aligned with Hermann’s business objectives.
• Establish department goals, KPIs, budgets, and performance metrics.
• Present marketing performance, brand initiatives, and strategic recommendations to the Executive Team and Board of Directors.
• Serve as the executive steward of Hermann’s brand, reputation, and public image.
• Lead corporate communications during significant company initiatives and manage crisis communications when necessary.
• Build strategic partnerships with customers, industry associations, universities, and community organizations that strengthen Hermann’s market presence.

Strategic Marketing & Brand Leadership

• Develop and execute a comprehensive enterprise marketing strategy supporting revenue growth across all business units.
• Drive demand generation and lead generation initiatives in partnership with the Sales organization.
• Lead the continued evolution of the Hermann Services brand across all locations and customer touchpoints.
• Oversee website strategy, digital marketing, SEO, advertising, content development, email marketing, social media, video production, and creative services.
• Utilize analytics and data to measure campaign effectiveness and maximize return on investment.
• Monitor competitive trends and identify market opportunities that support future growth.

Corporate Communications & Public Relations

• Develop and execute Hermann’s corporate communications strategy.
• Oversee public relations, media outreach, executive communications, press releases, and thought leadership initiatives.
• Strengthen Hermann’s reputation through proactive storytelling and strategic communications.
• Support executive visibility through speaking engagements, podcasts, articles, industry events, and LinkedIn leadership content.
• Lead internal communications that improve employee engagement and reinforce company culture.

Commercial Marketing & Sales Enablement

Partner with Sales leadership to accelerate growth by:

• Developing marketing campaigns that generate qualified sales opportunities.
• Creating compelling sales presentations, customer success stories, proposal templates, videos, and marketing collateral.
• Supporting customer acquisition, customer retention, and strategic account growth.
• Enhancing Hermann’s presence at industry conferences, trade shows, customer events, and networking opportunities.
• Aligning marketing investments with commercial priorities and measurable revenue outcomes.

Events & Customer Experience

Provide executive oversight for all corporate events, including:

• Customer appreciation events
• Executive customer meetings
• Trade shows and industry conferences
• Board of Directors meetings
• Leadership conferences
• Employee engagement events
• Recruiting initiatives
• Community outreach programs
• Rutgers Road to Supply Chain Leadership initiatives
• Centennial (100-Year Anniversary) celebrations

Develop a multi-year strategy for Hermann’s Centennial Celebration that enhances customer loyalty, employee pride, community engagement, recruiting, and brand awareness while showcasing Hermann’s legacy and future vision.

Leadership & Organizational Development

Provide leadership and development for:

• Marketing Manager
• Events Specialist
• Marketing & Social Media Specialist

Create a high-performing culture built on accountability, collaboration, creativity, continuous improvement, and measurable business results.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or related field (MBA preferred).
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, branding, communications, or commercial strategy.
• Executive leadership experience with responsibility for organizational strategy and business growth.
• Proven success building and strengthening nationally recognized brands.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with Sales, Operations, Human Resources, Finance, and Executive Leadership.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing departmental budgets and measuring ROI.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and executive influencing skills.

Preferred

• Transportation, logistics, warehousing, supply chain, or B2B industrial marketing experience.
• Experience leading public relations and corporate communications.
• Experience managing large-scale customer events and industry conferences.
• Experience leading organizational rebranding or major brand initiatives.
