About the Role:
The Beverage Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing all beverage operations within a hospitality establishment, ensuring exceptional quality and service standards that enhance guest satisfaction. This position is responsible for developing and implementing beverage programs that align with the brand’s vision and financial goals, including menu design, pricing strategies, and inventory management. The Beverage Manager collaborates closely with the Executive Chef and restaurant management to create harmonious food and beverage pairings that elevate the overall dining experience. Additionally, this role involves managing labor and food costs effectively to maximize profitability while maintaining high service standards. Ultimately, the Beverage Manager leads and motivates the beverage team to deliver outstanding service in a fine dining environment, contributing to the establishment’s reputation and success.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in beverage management within the hospitality industry, preferably in fine dining or upscale establishments.
- Strong knowledge of beverage operations, including inventory management, cost control, and supplier negotiation.
- Experience working collaboratively with culinary teams, to develop complementary food and beverage offerings.
- Demonstrated ability to manage labor costs and optimize team performance in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and licensing regulations governing beverage service in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in pre-opening beverage operations for new restaurants or hospitality venues.
- Certification in hospitality management or sommelier credentials.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Knowledge of current trends in the beverage industry, including craft cocktails, wine, and spirits.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute innovative beverage programs, including cocktail menus, wine lists, and specialty drink offerings tailored to the target clientele.
- Manage daily beverage operations, including inventory control, ordering, and supplier relationships to ensure cost efficiency and product availability.
- Collaborate with the culinary team and restaurant management to coordinate food and beverage pairings and special event offerings.
- Oversee staff recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management to build a skilled and motivated beverage team.
- Monitor labor and food costs closely, implementing strategies to optimize profitability without compromising quality or guest experience.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations related to beverage service.
- Lead pre-opening activities for new venues or outlets, including staff training, inventory setup, and operational planning.
