Job Description
Safe Industries is searching for an exceptional leader to join a team who serves those that serve others. The GM will lead with experience in collision, body, fabrication, and paint. Knowledge of providing first-class customer service to all markets including civilian, business, municipal, and government customer base. Must have the ability to deliver cutting edge service and fixed operations tactics.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility is for managing the location, in keeping with its long and short–term objectives. Focusing on profits and return on invested capital and curating the overall customer experience. Oversee facility operations, managers, department leads, financial performance, and strategic alignment with corporate goals. They bridge the gap between high-level executive strategy and daily workshop execution.
Financial &Strategic Management:
P&L Responsibility: Manage the shops' complete profit and loss statement to meet margin targets.
Budget Forecasting: Develop annual operating budgets and revenue projections for executive approval.
Deliver weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports to the Vice President.
Growth Strategy:
Implement local market strategies to increase market share and capture new business. Plans short- and long-term goals, objectives, and follow through to ensure goals are met.
Operational Excellence:
Work with managers, department leaders and optimize vehicle repairs throughout the process. Cycle times, touch times in the shop, and maximize labor during each process.
Enforce strict post – repair inspections protocols to eliminate supplements and re-work.
Monitor and improve severity scores, customer satisfaction index scores, and estimate accuracy. Ensure labor hours are maximized, and efficient work practices are met.
Leadership and Safety:
Provides enthusiastic leadership to help shape morale. Promote and set the example “Hire to Retire”.
Work with managers to hire, onboard, and retain high–performing estimators, technicians, office staff, and service advisors.
Maintain a safe work environment adhering to OSHA, EPA, and local environmental laws.
Work with managers and department leads to conduct structured evaluations and design performance improvement plans for all staff. To be performed at set intervals annually.
Technology & Asset Management:
Propose facility upgrades, equipment needs, vehicle needs and advanced tooling to the VP.
Oversee effective usage of collision management software and request any needs to the VP.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years' experience in managing overall operation of Collison and body shop repair facilities.
Minimum of 5 years in a leadership position meeting the responsibilities listed in this job description.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Computer skills related to the position.
Ability to work around common issues to meet production deadlines.
Must have strong communication skills both in both oral and written.
