Job Description
The Production Planner Specialist creates the manufacturing schedule and monitors it throughout the month to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers.
This position works within Habasit Globe's Materials Management department in Buffalo, NY, interfacing with purchasing, engineering, production, and customer service to coordinate the efficient flow of materials and production activities.

- Monitor jobs with Just-In-Time inventory versus due dates.
- Handle all job changes and dates.
- Communicate Out-Of-Stock (OOS) situations to customer service and logistics.
- Monitor and make adjustments to ensure overall department performance for production and productivity.
- Schedule, expedite, and coordinate the delivery and movement of critical material, including material transfers.
- Interface with purchasing, engineering, production, and customer service.
- Schedule and prepare the production schedule for production.
- Develop and prepare weekly updates on scheduling efficiency toward the department.
- Ensure all parties are fully aware of production status and that work planning and execution objectives are integrated and communicated.
- Monitor, analyze, and report performance to schedule of production activities utilizing information derived from material and production control systems.
- Monitor service and delivery issues and take corrective actions as needed.
- Identify and resolve supplier and internal errors that result in budget or schedule discrepancies.
- Research order and delivery discrepancies, resolve scheduling issues, and take appropriate corrective actions to prevent similar issues.
- Work with the Materials/Purchasing Supervisor to create a schedule that results in efficient machine utilization in concert with the production run schedule.
- Ensure that runs are prioritized for on-time delivery and that raw material is available as schedules are created.
- Monitor current part inventory, update the production team daily, and ensure that transportation time is considered in lead time for on-time delivery.
- Reschedule any jobs required (All Specials orders, Large volume orders, International orders, etc.).
- Manage and release jobs for stocked parts (Q.C., USPS, Access conveyor, etc.).
- Reschedule to help achieve monthly and daily budget needs.
- Re-schedule out-of-stock released jobs to minimize impact on on-time percentage.
- Review capacity planning and lead times.
- Review B.O.M.s for accuracy and availability.
- Other duties as assigned.

- High competency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 1st shift. Additional hours may be required to meet production and scheduling demands.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Three to five years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Experience in inventory and materials management.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Minimum of three years of tenure with the company.
