Are you an experienced CDL Class A driver who enjoys staying active, working with a strong team, and taking pride in getting the job done right?

At Southeast Steel Systems, we do more than manufacture steel buildings. We help supply the materials that bring construction projects to life. We're looking for a reliable, safety-focused Warehouse Driver who can handle deliveries, support warehouse operations, and help keep our customers and production teams moving.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role that combines professional driving with warehouse and logistics responsibilities. If you take pride in your work, value safety, and want to be part of a team where your contributions matter, we'd love to meet you.

About the Role

As a Warehouse Driver, you will operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport steel products, building materials, and related supplies to customers and designated locations. When not making deliveries, you will support daily warehouse operations, including loading, unloading, staging, organizing, and preparing materials for shipment.

This position requires someone who can work independently on the road and contribute as part of a warehouse team. You will play an important role in making sure our materials are handled with care, deliveries arrive safely, and customers receive the products they expect.

What You'll Do

CDL Driving & Deliveries

  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers and other assigned equipment.

  • Transport steel components, metal building materials, and finished products to designated delivery locations.

  • Secure steel loads, including oversized or irregularly shaped materials, using approved tie-down methods and equipment.

  • Complete required vehicle inspections before and after trips.

  • Follow assigned routes and coordinate delivery schedules with warehouse management and dispatch.

  • Maintain accurate electronic logs, delivery records, bills of lading, and other required documentation.

  • Follow all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT), FMCSA, state, and company safety requirements.

  • Report vehicle concerns, cargo damage, delivery issues, and safety hazards.

Warehouse & Material Handling

  • Assist with loading and unloading steel materials, supplies, and finished products.

  • Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment when trained and authorized.

  • Stage, organize, and prepare materials for shipping and delivery.

  • Verify orders, quantities, and materials against shipping documents.

  • Inspect products and loads for visible damage, missing items, and potential safety concerns.

  • Help maintain accurate inventory and organized storage areas.

  • Support general warehouse duties, material movement, and production needs between deliveries.

  • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas.

Teamwork & Customer Service

  • Communicate with warehouse employees, operations leaders, customers, and other drivers.

  • Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at customer and delivery sites.

  • Notify management of delivery delays, shortages, damaged materials, or other concerns.

  • Work with team members to meet delivery schedules and daily operational goals.

  • Follow company policies and help maintain a workplace where safety and accountability come first.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A license.

  • Ability to meet applicable DOT and FMCSA driver qualification requirements.

  • Acceptable driving history under company standards and applicable law.

  • Current DOT medical certification, when required.

  • Ability to meet federal drug and alcohol testing requirements.

  • Experience operating Class A commercial vehicles safely.

  • Knowledge of commercial vehicle inspections, cargo securement, and transportation safety.

  • Ability to read shipping documents and verify material quantities.

  • Ability to perform physical warehouse duties, including lifting, bending, standing, and handling materials with appropriate equipment.

  • Willingness to work in the warehouse when not assigned to deliveries.

  • Dependable attendance, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience transporting structural steel, metal building components, or construction materials.

  • Experience securing flatbed loads with chains, binders, straps, and other approved equipment.

  • Forklift or industrial material-handling experience.

  • Familiarity with warehouse shipping, receiving, and inventory processes.

  • Experience using electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS, and delivery documentation systems.

  • Basic knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Work takes place in warehouse, manufacturing, outdoor loading, and commercial driving environments.

  • Regular exposure to moving equipment, steel materials, outdoor weather, and industrial noise.

  • Must be able to enter and exit commercial vehicles, secure loads, and perform required inspections.

  • Must be able to lift and handle materials within the established requirements of the position, with appropriate assistance or equipment.

  • Must use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Must be able to work the assigned schedule, including overtime or extended delivery hours when business needs require.

  • Travel and overnight assignments may be required based on designated delivery routes.

Reasonable accommodations may be provided to qualified applicants and employees in accordance with applicable law.
