About The Role

As an Installer, you will be responsible for the safe and accurate installation of a wide range of commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment. You will set, align, secure, and seal prefabricated kitchen components, as well as assemble and install walk-in refrigerators and freezers to specification. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and work from drawings or instructions in the field. You will work closely with other trades, connecting to existing fuel and energy lines installed by others, while ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and code requirements. This is an hourly, full-time position with hands-on work both in the shop and on customer sites.

What You'll Do

  • Install, set in place, stack, anchor, attach, flash, and seal prefabricated kitchen equipment according to project specifications and drawings.
  • Assemble panels, floors, and ceilings, enclosure panels, and vertical trim for walk-in coolers and freezers, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and air-tight seals.
  • Install stainless-steel (s/s) sinks, tables, cabinets, wall linings, tray rails, sneeze guards, duct risers, and flashing and seal to finished walls.
  • Hang, support, and securely fasten exhaust hoods, wall linings, and associated equipment in accordance with safety and code requirements.
  • Measure, cut, and fit materials accurately, using appropriate hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, layout drawings, product data, and installation manuals to complete work with minimal supervision.
  • Load, unload, and protect equipment and materials during transport to and from job sites.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, foremen, customers, general contractors, and other trades on-site to coordinate installation activities and resolve issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, both in the shop and on job sites, and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete required documentation, such as installation checklists, job safety analysis forms, daily work logs, and time logs, accurately and on time to general contractors

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in equipment installation, commercial kitchen fit-out, refrigeration, or a similar mechanical/installation trade.
  • Proficiency using common hand and power tools for cutting, drilling, fastening, and assembling metal and related materials.
  • Ability to install stainless-steel components, including sinks, tables, cabinets, wall linings, tray rails, sneeze guards, duct risers, and flashing/trim.
  • Basic knowledge of basic equipment, plumbing and electrical connections to be able to coordinate with electricians and plumbers
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and installation manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, code-compliant installations.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry heavy equipment and materials, and to work at heights or in confined spaces as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for operating company vehicles.
  • Basic skills in handling inventory, and shipping and receiving (experience in these areas is a plus but may be optional).
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work full-time hours, including occasional overtime as project schedules require.
  • Effective communication skills in English and the ability to work cooperatively as part of an installation team
