Job Description
Job Summary:
The Patient Financial Services Analyst serves as the central point of support for all the staff and vendors associated with Patient Financial Services. This would include any type of office support, such as working/reporting out of databases, spreadsheets, processing invoices/requisitions in Lawson, developing and maintaining electronic documents, supply ordering, workflow and security requests.
In performance of these duties, this role is also responsible for and includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Demonstrates ability to effectively utilize a personal computer. Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word software.
- Creates and updates assigned departmental reports in a timely and accurate manner to appropriate staff.
- Effectively operates and manages electronic billing and remittance software.
- Assists various PFS staff and management personnel in preparation of data collection.
- Assists in auditing accounts for discrepancies in posting issues, and underpayments.
- Prepares all required documentation and approval records for bankruptcies, estates, garnishments, affidavits, vendor invoices and other
- Works as the primary contact for all vendors handling requests in regard to workflow changes, security access needs and invoice questions.
- Works all client billing accounts insuring they are up-to-date, and all statements are mailed out monthly.
- Responsible for setting up and documenting new employee’s equipment and access.
- Is the primary gatekeeper for all needed IT requests.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
High school diploma required. Two years college minimum or paralegal certification preferred. Extensive work experience may substitute for some collegiate studies. Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Work Experience:
Must have a working knowledge and experience of data processing systems, organizational abilities, data analysis, and strong communication skills. Patient Accounting experience in a hospital setting or physician's office preferred.
Mental Demands:
Exceptional oral and written skills are required to relate effectively. The individual must have the ability to type and be familiar with the rules of spelling, grammar, and punctuation. The individual must have the ability to use a computer display station, copier, telephone, personal computer, and calculator. Working knowledge of medical terminology is necessary. The individual must have a high energy level and be capable of handling pressure situations both mentally and physically. The ability to perform repetitive tasks, cooperate with others, follow directions precisely, and demonstrate initiative is required. The individual must be able to prioritize and meet project deadlines, have good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to maintain rapport.
