Carmel, NY - School Nurse - (LPN) in Carmel Hamlet, New York at Regional Care Network

Pay: $45/hour

Location: Schools across Northern Westchester and Putnam County (Peekskill, Ossining, Yorktown, Carmel, Mahopac, Bedford, Chappaqua and surrounding districts)

Schedule: Daytime school hours, MondayFriday. Hours vary week to week. Follows the school calendar, so you get weekends, holidays and school breaks off.

Regional Care Network (RCN) is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses to support students in K12 schools across the Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES region. You may work in a district health office or provide care to a student who needs nursing support during the school day. Assignments can be at any school in the area, so let us know which towns work best for you.

What youll do

• Give medications and treatments according to student care plans and physician orders
• Provide skilled care as needed, such as G-tube feedings, diabetic management and glucose checks, seizure monitoring, catheterization, nebulizer treatments, or trach care
• Respond to illnesses, injuries and emergencies during the school day
• Keep accurate documentation and communicate with the school nurse, teachers and families
• Help with health screenings and keep health records up to date

Requirements

• Active New York State LPN license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• School nursing or pediatric experience preferred, but not required
• Fingerprint clearance for school employment (well walk you through it)
• Reliable transportation
