About This Position

Job Title: Billing / Customer Service (some experience required)

Company/Location: Avtec Finishing / New Hope MN

Shift: 6a - 3p M-F (these hours are approximate and will be specified upon hire)

Pay: $25.00/hour (DOQ)

Signing Bonus: $1500 (current employees are not eligible for signing bonus)

Attendance is Critical: This role directly impacts customer satisfaction and generating income for the company. We depend on our team being here every scheduled day, on time, and prepared to work.

Strict Security Protocols Apply: Personal mobile devices must be secured during work hours and accessed only during authorized breaks in designated areas.

Manufacturing Environment: Although this is an office-based role, there are times when it is required to enter the production/shipping areas - with exposure to heat, humidity, dust, noise, and periodic fumes.

In-Person Interviews Only: This role is an in-house only position, located in New Hope, MN. We do not conduct virtual interviews. Candidates must reside in MN or have confirmed relocation plans prior to consideration.

About the Role

The primary role is to do billing - accurately and timely. Billing can be somewhat complicated - based on the customer, the parts, the processes involved, the specifications, the add-on services, minimum fees, contracts, etc. The right candidate must be able to work with Order Entry, Accounting, Quoting, Sales and other departments to address issues/concerns. A smaller portion is working with the Customer, in relation to the billing process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to outside sales reps with customer updates, quality issues, and new opportunities.
  • Partner with internal teams on special handling or shipping requirements.
  • Assist with accurate and timely billing; reconcile sales orders and invoices.
  • Research and resolve customer credits and complaints.
  • Cross-train in order entry, shipping, quoting, and expediting.
  • Manage accounts directly, including site visits and reviews when needed.
  • Identify and refer new business opportunities to the sales team.
  • Contribute to a culture of dependability, teamwork, and customer-first service.

What We're Looking For

  • Reliable, consistent attendance
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Some Accounting Knowledge/Understanding
  • Prior invoicing/billing experience
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Strong computer and data entry skills
  • Excellent organization and multitasking ability
  • Clear, professional communication skills
  • Ability to remain composed when handling customer concerns
  • Comfortable reading drawings, blueprints, and finish specifications (preferred)
