About This Position

Summary/Objective: The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving food, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring the bar area is clean and organized, and delivering outstanding customer service. Bartenders must adhere to legal regulations regarding alcohol service, create a welcoming atmosphere, and ensure a safe environment for all patrons.

Essential Job Functions: Specific duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
Key Responsibilities:
•Prepare and Serve Beverages: Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to customer preferences and standard recipes. This includes pouring beers, serving wine, and preparing cocktails.
•Responsible Alcohol Service: Verify guests' legal drinking age by checking IDs before serving alcoholic beverages. Strictly adhere to state and local alcohol laws, including refusing service to underage individuals and patrons showing signs of intoxication.
•Monitor Customer Consumption: Continuously observe guests’ alcohol intake and take appropriate actions to cut off or refuse service to intoxicated customers, ensuring a responsible drinking environment. Maintain safety for all patrons.
•Food Service: Serve hot food to customers, ensuring adherence to food safety standards and maintaining proper hygiene.
•Customer Interaction: Take drink and food orders from customers, provide menu recommendations, answer inquiries, and engage in friendly conversation to ensure a positive experience.
•Timely Service: Deliver all orders promptly and professionally, ensuring that customers receive their food and beverages in a timely manner.
•Transaction Management: Handle customer payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system, including processing cash, credit, and debit card transactions.
•Maintain Bar Hygiene: Keep the bar area clean and organized, regularly wiping down counters, cleaning glassware, and washing utensils, all while adhering to health and safety regulations.
•Inventory Control: Track inventory levels, restock bar supplies, and place orders as necessary to ensure the bar is fully stocked with beverages, garnishes, and ingredients.
•Create a Welcoming Atmosphere: Foster a friendly and inviting environment for guests, engage in small talk, and provide excellent customer service to ensure all patrons feel comfortable and valued.
•Customer Service Excellence: Handle customer complaints, feedback, and inquiries in a professional and timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction.

Skills and Qualifications:
•Bartender License: Complete a responsible beverage server training course and obtain an operator's license.
•Bartending Experience: Previous experience (1-2 years) in a similar role preferred, with a strong understanding of drink recipes and mixology techniques.
•POS and Cash Handling: Experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems and managing cash, credit, and debit card transactions accurately.
Age Requirement: Must meet the legal age to serve alcohol in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin (18 years or older).

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Travel Requirements: No travel is expected for this position.

Work Environment: The Bartender position requires working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with staff and customers. The position may require working in a noisy, high-traffic environment.
