General Cleaner – Part-Time | School Facility in Casselberry, Florida at FCS Facility Services

We are seeking dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Part-Time General Cleaners to join our team at a large school facility.

This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining multiple areas throughout the school, including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, stairways, elevators, gym areas, and a basketball court.

The school consists of multiple floors and buildings, so this position requires frequent walking and moving between different areas of the facility. The workload is active and physically demanding, and the cleaner must be able to complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining FCS Services' cleaning and safety standards.

The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, physically capable, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment for students, teachers, staff, and visitors.

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, including desks, tables, chairs, and other classroom surfaces.

• Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, shelves, doors, and other surfaces.

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout assigned areas.

• Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, countertops, and other fixtures.

• Refill restroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper, as needed.

• Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and properly dispose of waste.

• Clean and maintain hallways, corridors, common areas, and other high-traffic areas.

• Clean and maintain stairways and stairwells.

• Clean and maintain elevators, including floors, doors, walls, and other surfaces.

• Clean teacher offices and other assigned office areas.

• Clean and maintain gym areas and the basketball court.

• Dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum assigned areas according to established procedures.

• Clean doors, glass, windows, and other assigned surfaces as directed.

• Maintain cleanliness throughout multiple floors and buildings within the school facility.

• Monitor cleaning supply levels and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.

• Safely operate vacuums, mops, floor equipment, and other cleaning equipment.

• Use cleaning chemicals safely and according to company procedures and product instructions.

• Follow all company and client safety procedures.

• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing assigned duties.

• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or other concerns to the supervisor promptly.

• Complete assigned cleaning tasks thoroughly and within established timeframes.

• Maintain a professional and respectful attitude while working around students, teachers, school staff, clients, and team members.

This is an active and physically demanding cleaning position. Employees should be prepared to spend most of the shift standing and walking throughout multiple areas of the school.

The position requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.

• Frequently bend, kneel, reach, push, and pull.

• Move between multiple floors and buildings.

• Walk up and down stairs as part of routine cleaning duties.

• Vacuum, sweep, and mop for extended periods.

• Move and handle cleaning equipment and supplies.

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Perform repetitive cleaning motions throughout the shift.

• Work efficiently while completing a large number of assigned areas within the scheduled shift.

• Previous commercial cleaning or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Dependable, punctual, and responsible.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

• Willingness to learn and follow FCS Services cleaning procedures and safety standards.

• Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and required PPE.

• Must be comfortable working in a large school facility with multiple floors and buildings.

• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and any additional screening required by the client.

Two part-time positions are available:

• Position 1: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM–9:00 PM — approximately 15 hours per week.

• Position 2: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM–10:00 PM — approximately 20 hours per week.

These positions require consistent attendance and the ability to complete assigned cleaning responsibilities within the scheduled hours.
