About This Position

Position Description:

Are you fluent in Spanish and English and passionate about bridging communication gaps in a clinical or secure care environment?

We’re seeking an Interpreter to facilitate clear, accurate, and culturally responsive communication between Spanish-speaking individuals and English-speaking clinical and security staff. This role is essential to ensuring understanding, trust, and effective care delivery by removing language barriers in critical interactions.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide accurate, real-time interpretation during clinical interviews, mental health assessments, group therapy, and interactions with treatment and security staff.
  • Interpret using appropriate methods, including consecutive, simultaneous, summarization, and sight translation.
  • Ensure all communication is conveyed clearly, accurately, and without bias while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures, terminology, and nuances relevant to clinical and secure environments.
  • Accurately interpret specialized terminology related to behavioral health, treatment programs, and facility operations.
  • Maintain detailed records of interpretation services, including date, time, location, and participants.
  • Complete all required administrative documentation related to interpretation assignments.
  • Maintain punctuality and reliability for all scheduled sessions and interactions.
  • Support collaboration between individuals served and multidisciplinary teams to enhance understanding and outcomes.
  • What We’re Looking For

    Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field (preferred)
  • Experience

  • Experience working as an interpreter in a treatment and/or secure setting (required)
  • Fluency in Spanish and English with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages (required)
  • Licenses & Certifications

  • Client-mandated certifications and/or training (required)
  • Certification in interpretation or related field (preferred)
