About the role
The Partner Development Manager owns the partner relationship from first conversation to ongoing performance. The internal champion for every partnership, and the one accountable when a partnership isn't delivering. This role does not close deals - that is the BDE's job. What partner product development manager does is build the relationships, establish the partnerships, and own the playbook that makes everything else possible. From identifying the right partners and negotiating commercial agreements to orchestrating co-sell motions and holding partners accountable for results, success in this role is measured not by activity but by how well the partnerships perform.
You are the right person for the role if you:
- Think in systems - you want to build a repeatable playbook, not manage one deal at a time
- Are energized by building relationships at the organizational level, not just with individuals
- Are comfortable being the person who holds everyone accountable without having direct authority over them
- Can move between a commercial negotiation and a QBR deck without losing stride
- Take ownership of outcomes. If a partnership isn't performing, you want to know why and make refinements
What you'll do
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize strategic partners aligned to RedBlack's GTM objectives
- Lead joint value proposition development and solution mapping with partner organizations
- Own partner commercial negotiations and agreements end-to-end
- Oversee development of co-branded microsites and content assets with Marketing
- Build and maintain a repeatable partner playbook, with a core framework that is tailored to each partnership
- Serve as the internal champion for each partner, coordinating across Marketing, Product Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure the partnership is active and delivering
- Contribute to partner launch activities including press releases and social campaigns
- Support co-hosted lead generation activities such as events and webinars
- Own KPI definition and performance tracking across the partner program
- Lead quarterly business reviews with partner organizations
- Maintain pipeline and forecast accuracy for partner-sourced deals
What success looks like
- A healthy, active partner pipeline contributing measurable revenue
- Partners who are enabled, engaged, and bringing qualified opportunities
- Commercial agreements in place with strategic partners, with clear governance and QBR cadence
- Strong cross-functional alignment with Sales and Marketing on co-sell execution
- Percentage of pipeline that is partner-sourced, growing quarter over quarter
- Time from signed agreement to partnership live, tracked against target
- Partner revenue contribution reported at every QBR with clear trends
Qualifications
- 7+ years in partner development, channel sales, or business development in a SaaS environment
- Proven track record building and scaling partner programs from the ground up
- Strong commercial acumen. Comfortable negotiating agreements and managing partner P&L
- Natural cross-functional orchestrator. Comfortable coordinating Marketing, Sales, CS, and Product without direct authority over them
- Strong project management instincts, able to run multiple partnerships simultaneously, each at a different stage of the lifecycle
- Experience in fintech, wealth tech, or financial services software is an asset
