Certified Surgical Technologist at Holzer Health System – Gallipolis, Ohio

Works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, functions as an assistant to the medical and other professional staff. Performs duties that include patient care and special procedures unique to this department as limited by the scope of training and according to hospital policies and procedures. Follows AORN standards and guidelines within a patient and Family Centered Care Model.

Education, Work Experience and Licensure:

· High School Graduate or equivalent.

· Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology.

· Applicants must have successfully obtained Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) for Surgical Technology (CST), or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) for Tech in Surgery (TS-C). If not certified upon hire, certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

· Previous surgical experience preferred in the past 5 years.

· CPR required.
