POSITION SUMMARY
In response to the humanitarian crisis at America’s ports of entry, (CPLC) Chicanos Por La Causa will be providing short-term shelter care services for unaccompanied children who have come to the United States without a parent or legal guardian. (CPLC) Chicanos por la Causa will provide extremely high-quality, trauma-informed residential and educational services for unaccompanied children, with intense supports for their social and emotional health. We will also ensure they receive excellent and immediate physical healthcare including pediatric, dental and nutritional supports for every child.
(CPLC’s) Chicanos por la Causa ultimate goal is to ensure every unaccompanied child who receives our services is successfully and quickly discharged into the loving care of their family sponsor and, during the short time they are with us, have received best-in-class medical, therapeutic, recreational and educational services designed specifically to address the traumas they have sustained during, and often before, their migration journey.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- High School Diploma or equivalent degree and a minimum of 1 year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents.
- Minimum age of 21 years or older.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Must possess and maintain a current valid Driver’s License meeting company standards of insurability.
- Proficiency with computers, common office equipment, and MS Office products.
- Must be able to perform emergency behavioral intervention (EBI) for clients in care when necessary.
- Meet the requirements of the contract for all immunizations.
- Clean criminal background check.
- Clean child abuse and neglect or child protective services check.
- Ability to pass a medical examination to determine one’s fitness to satisfactorily and safely care of clients if accommodations are required.
