About the role
Join a hands-on tree care crew as a Groundsperson. You’ll start assisting certified climbers and crews on site, learn tree work safety and techniques, and progress through a self-paced apprenticeship to become a certified professional tree climber at your own pace and with the assistance of crew leads.

Requirements (must-have)
- High school diploma or GED (Please note date of GED certificate or graduation year on your resume!)
- Minimum 7 years of work experience in ANY FIELD, preferably outdoors.
- Current, clean California Driver’s License
- Live within 30 minutes of Richmond, CA
- Physically fit and able to perform manual outdoor labor (lift, climb, stand for up to 8 hours per day). Work in direct sun, rain, hot and cold weather year-round
- Reliable personal transportation to the job site in Richmond. Our worksites are inaccessible by public transit
- Clean criminal background for past 10 years

Preferred
- Prior outdoor work experience (landscaping, arboriculture, construction, etc.)
- Bilingual English/Spanish, or enough “tree care Spanish” to work alongside a Spanish-only speaking crew
- Experience driving and backing up a large chipper truck while towing a trailer

Sobre el puesto

Requisitos (obligatorios)

- Mínimo 7 años de experiencia laboral en CUALQUIER CAMPO, preferiblemente al aire libre.
- Licencia de conducir de California vigente y sin infracciones
- Vivir dentro de 30 minutos de Richmond, CA
- En buen estado físico y capaz de realizar trabajo manual al aire libre (levantar, trepar, estar de pie hasta 8 horas por día). Trabajar bajo sol, lluvia, calor y frío todo el año.
- Transporte personal confiable hasta el lugar de trabajo en Richmond. Nuestros sitios de trabajo no son accesibles por transporte público.
- Antecedentes penales limpios en los últimos 10 años

Preferido
- Experiencia previa en trabajos al aire libre (paisajismo, arboricultura, construcción, etc.)
- Bilingüe inglés/español, o suficiente “español de cuidado de árboles” para trabajar con una cuadrilla que solo habla español
- Experiencia manejando y retrocediendo camión astillador grande mientras remolca un remolque

- $21.00 por hora + seguro médico Kaiser, dental Delta y óptico después de 90 días de empleo. 5 días por enfermedad, 5 días festivos pagados y PTO (tiempo libre pagado) acumulable.
