Description:

The International School of Indiana (ISI), with approximately 550 students, is an independent non-profit preschool through Grade 12 institution established in 1994 by business and civic leaders to play a vital role in Indiana’s increasingly global business community by supporting the recruitment of top international professional talent and promoting the value of internationalism. ISI is the state’s only school offering all enrolled students access to certified full-continuum International Baccalaureate (IB) programming, language immersion, and dual language learning in Spanish, French, and Mandarin. Approximately half of the school’s students receive some form of financial aid, and philanthropic support is essential for fulfilling the school’s mission to provide its students with a world-class education that prepares them to be responsible citizens and effective leaders in a rapidly globalizing and interdependent world.

Primary responsibilities:

The Development Manager will serve as a member of the ISI Advancement team, with primary responsibility for supporting annual fundraising, grant management, capital campaign initiatives, database management, and donor cultivation and stewardship efforts. This role will independently manage assigned projects and priorities while collaborating closely with advancement colleagues, business office staff, and board members to support the organization’s overall fundraising strategy and goals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Annual Fundraising: Support annual fundraising initiatives through coordination of solicitation schedules, donor communications, and campaign materials.
  • Grant Management: Maintain the grants calendar to ensure timely submission of proposals, reports, and renewals. Collaborate with internal teams to gather data, metrics, and supporting information needed for grant applications and written materials.
  • Capital Campaign Support: Conduct donor and prospect research; assist with preparation of solicitation materials; and develop reports and presentations for campaign committees and the Board.
  • Database Management: Maintain campaigns, appeals, and donor records within eTapestry, ensuring data accuracy and producing reports as needed.
  • Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Assist in identifying and developing materials and strategies to support donor cultivation and stewardship efforts, including thank-you letters, gift acknowledgments, and outreach to priority constituent groups such as alumni.
  • Event Support: Provide support for fundraising and campus events coordinated by the Advancement Department, though this role is not responsible for overall event management.
  • Advancement Projects: Support additional advancement planning projects and community engagement activities that help cultivate and steward prospective and current donors.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Time Expectation:

This is a regular exempt full-time position eligible for ISI's benefit package, subject to the terms, conditions, and limitations of each benefit program.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • A Philanthropic Studies student/graduate preferred
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively build partnerships with diverse groups, including international employees and families.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Understanding of and respect for confidential information
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions while also displaying an enthusiasm for learning and confidence to ask questions.
  • Knowledge of campaign planning for major and planned giving preferred
