Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Primary responsibility is to manage and support corporate fundraising with an emphasis on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of corporate prospects as assigned by Senior Regional Director, Corporate Development. Duties include, but are not limited to, account management, prospect pipeline development and solicitation, writing proposals, making presentations and organizing travel arrangements. Solicit funds from corporate partners in support of the FFA vision and mission, for FFA programs, for agricultural education or related organizations, scholarships, exhibitors and other special projects as approved by the CEO, President and Board of Trustees. Responsible for an annual fundraising goal. Arrange meetings with assigned corporate partners to secure funds. Work with program managers to understand recognition and engagement opportunities. Provide assistance to National FFA and FFA Foundation staff and other agricultural education groups in areas such as National Convention planning, tour arrangements and special project requests. Account management and tracking responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Build and maintain relationships with assigned corporate partners.
- Secure annual and multi-year funding commitments with a goal of 10,000 or more from corporate partners.
- Assist corporate partners with program recognition and engagement.
- Create and manage annual program and event calendars for each assigned corporate partner.
- Arrange corporate partner activities during the National FFA Convention & Expo.
- Manage relationships with corporate representatives, including meetings and other engagement with National FFA.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Team player with the ability to work independently in a frequently changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication, and project management skills, and strong initiative.
- Interact and work with a diverse group of internal/external people.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and/or external customers.
- Be able to travel, effectively prioritize, organize, use time-management skills, and be adept at multi-tasking.
- Accurate, detailed-oriented, able to problem solve/analyze, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Computer literate, and be able to make and receive phone calls
- Daily use of consumer data management system
- Confident in speaking in front of small and large groups.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years of relevant fundraising experience required. Previous fundraising, sales, corporate social responsibility required. Experience in fund development preferably in higher education or agriculture related organizations preferred or equivalent work experience
- Successful experience in making cold calls as well as developing cultivation and solicitation strategies
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of completing assignments
- Must be willing to travel. National travel approximately 40-50%.
- Some previous FFA experience preferred.
