Job Description
Job Summary: The Project Manager will serve as the primary contact for all Design and Fabrication activities, which includes tracking/monitoring the progress between sales, engineering, materials, planning, operations, shipping and field service departments, as well as being a direct liaison to the customer. The Project Manager will also field technical questions about the projects from customers and provide guidance to the production team in problem solving and finding solutions to variances during the fabrication process. The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating all the details of a project from the day the order is booked until the customer receives and is completely satisfied. The Project Manager will continually monitor the progress of shop productivity and maximize shop loading efficiency in the course of scheduling incoming projects. You will report directly to the Chief Engineer.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Applications Engineers to create more efficient methods and maintain profitability
- Compile statistics, data, and other supporting documentation and information necessary to complete assigned projects; may perform routine analysis including but not limited to time studies, cost analysis, shop loading, and ways to improve efficiency
- Create the framework used to develop and monitor project metrics and manage the collection of project data
- Prepare reports on a regular basis
- Review/audit documents and other work received by the department for completeness and adherence to guidelines
- Prepare, process, and track project reports
- Provide assistance for short-term projects, multi-task and identify problems/roadblocks and take corrective action in a timely manner
- Review customer specifications and provide the shop with necessary information to complete projects to the highest customer expectations
- Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor project plans, timelines, budgets and expenditures
- Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team
- Track and manage contemplated change notices and change orders
- Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude
- Other duties as assigned
- Some travel required
Skills/Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or equivalent or a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in projects built in manufacturing and/or engineering settings
- Must have experience working with fabrication and ASME vessels in a Project Manager role
- Familiar with RFQs and change orders
- Advanced in MS Word and Excel
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage and understand technical requirements
- Must have proven organization, multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy is required
- Ability to understand engineering needs, read and interpret drawings, layouts and prints
- Proficient in MS Project
- Familiar with fabrication and ASME codes and ISO knowledge
- Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
- Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Exhibit a customer focused attitude to the team members and the rest of the organization
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Strong project and technical skills
- Standard knowledge of basic computer skills

Physical Requirements and other items to communicate:
The ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Work in a high pace manufacturing environment. Have the ability to multi-task by sharing workspace with interruptions from others. Some travel is required. Overtime may be required at times in order to meet deadlines.
