Job Description

Product Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Manager based in Canada.

This is a high-ownership product leadership role focused on completing a major transition from a legacy on-premise platform to a modern cloud-based solution. You will have direct responsibility for deciding product scope, prioritization, and customer migration readiness. Working closely with engineering, customer success, sales, support, and leadership, you will turn real customer needs into clear product decisions and measurable outcomes. The role requires someone who is comfortable making difficult trade-offs, defending priorities, and creating clarity in a fast-moving environment. You will spend meaningful time understanding customers in their real-world environments and translating those insights into product improvements. You will also help shape the platform’s longer-term innovation strategy, including practical adoption of AI across the product lifecycle.

Accountabilities:
  • Own product scope and parity decisions, determining what capabilities must be available before customers migrate to the cloud and what can be delivered later.
  • Build, own, and communicate the product roadmap while maintaining clear priorities amid competing stakeholder demands and changing timelines.
  • Conduct hands-on customer discovery by observing users in their working environments and translating customer workflows, pain points, and feedback into actionable product decisions.
  • Translate customer and business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and downstream context for engineering, QA, support, training, and other teams.
  • Define measurable outcomes for product initiatives, evaluate performance after launch, and take corrective action when products or features do not meet expectations.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, sales, marketing, customer success, support, and leadership to align on priorities, delivery plans, and product launches.
  • Help internal teams confidently represent and support the product by sharing product knowledge, context, priorities, and upcoming changes.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation by monitoring customer needs, market developments, industry trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Explore practical applications of AI throughout the product lifecycle and help determine where AI-enabled capabilities can deliver meaningful value to customers.
  • Use modern product and AI tools to improve research, analysis, prototyping, and day-to-day product management efficiency.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of product management experience with a demonstrated record of owning products end to end, including strategy, prioritization, delivery, and outcomes.
  • Proven experience making difficult prioritization and scope decisions and confidently defending those decisions with senior stakeholders.
  • Direct experience with legacy modernization or platform migration, ideally involving an on-premise-to-cloud transition and customer-impacting parity decisions.
  • Strong customer discovery skills, with the ability to engage directly with users, understand real-world workflows, and turn observations into product decisions.
  • Excellent ability to create clear, detailed user stories that anticipate the needs of engineering, QA, support, training, and other downstream stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving, and lightly structured environments where you are expected to create clarity and drive progress.
  • Strong judgment, accountability, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to navigate disagreement and high-pressure situations.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and willingness to use AI tools hands-on to improve your own workflow and explore potential product applications.
  • Experience in automotive repair software or a related vertical industry is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with product and project management tools such as Jira or Aha!, as well as modern AI tools, is desirable.
  • Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience; Pragmatic Marketing certification or similar training is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation: Target Canadian base salary of approximately CAD $139,000–$175,000, with the stated Ontario and British Columbia range of approximately CAD $139,500–$170,500.
  • Remote work: Fully remote opportunity based in Canada.
  • Comprehensive total rewards: Benefits may include health and wellness programs, paid time off, and other employee programs designed to support well-being.
  • Learning and development: Opportunities to build expertise through continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
  • High autonomy: Work within a decentralized environment that gives experienced professionals significant independence and ownership.
  • Meaningful product ownership: Make consequential decisions about cloud migration, roadmap priorities, customer experience, and long-term product direction.
  • Innovation exposure: Explore practical applications of AI and modern technology within product development and customer experiences.
  • Collaborative culture: Work closely with engineering, customer success, sales, support, and leadership teams in a transparent and trust-oriented environment.
  • Long-term growth: Join an environment focused on sustained investment in people, technology, and customers.
