You will troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and occasionally install electronic security systems and related equipment.
The position combines hands-on technical work, customer service, problem-solving, and preventative maintenance.

- Respond promptly to routine, non-routine, scheduled maintenance, emergency, and after-hours service calls, diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace defective components, debug systems, and complete installations for security systems and smaller or less complex projects.
- Perform preventative maintenance, system checkouts, technical assistance, troubleshooting, and repair routines for installed security systems.
- Use appropriate diagnostic methods, tools, and techniques to isolate equipment or software problems and determine effective solutions.
- Prepare accurate and detailed service reports to support customer communication, invoicing, and job-cost tracking.
- Support systems upgrades, audits, consultations, custom integrations, database activities, and network equipment installation or configuration when required.
- Ensure all service activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations as well as health and safety procedures.
- Maintain strong customer relationships by understanding needs, communicating solutions clearly, and delivering responsive, professional service.
- Collaborate with colleagues and specialists, participate in cross-training, and contribute to continuous improvement across service operations.
- Perform additional technical and operational duties as assigned.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience is preferred but not required.
- Developing technical knowledge of electronic security, fire alarm and life-safety, building automation, or related systems.
- Experience with brands such as Bosch, DMP, or Honeywell is advantageous.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including the ability to safely use hand and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, wire strippers, hacksaws, and crimpers.
- Ability to develop basic programming skills and apply structured troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve technical problems.
- Proficiency with computers and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong customer-service orientation with the ability to remain professional and effective under pressure.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technicians, specialists, and other team members.
- Strong attention to detail, accountability, adaptability, and willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
- Ability to travel to customer sites and respond to service requirements, including emergency or after-hours calls when necessary.
- Base salary range of $25.35–$36.74 per hour, with individual compensation varying according to location, experience, certifications, licenses, education, and other job-related factors.
