Job Description

CI Project Manager National Power is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and manage critical infrastructure projects across the state of Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial AC/DC electrical project management and prior experience with critical infrastructure projects in data centers, telco/broadband headends, etc. This role requires exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills to ensure successful project delivery.Position SummaryThe CI Project Manager is responsible for safely planning, coordinating, and delivering Critical Infrastructure (CI) projects. These projects typically involve existing facilities, the retrofitting of power supply and/or cooling equipment, accelerated schedules, and close coordination with customers, field technicians, material vendors, and subcontractors.
This role serves as the primary customer point of contact from order handoff through project completion, owning scheduling, cost control, material procurement, subcontracting, change management, and customer communication. The CI Project Manager ensures projects are executed safely, efficiently, and profitably while delivering a high-quality customer experience.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution & Coordination
  • Manage multiple small to medium scope CI projects simultaneously from order receipt through closeout
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during job execution, coordinating directly with owners and facilities teams
  • Work collaboratively with the CI manager to have a successful job handover including reviewing and saving all bid documents (scope documents, contracts, estimates, schedule of values, drawings, vendor quotes and contacts, customer, and engineer of record contacts, etc.)
  • Plan and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to support short-duration site work
  • Develop and manage project schedules aligned with customer availability and site constraints
  • Coordinate site access, shutdowns, bypasses, testing, and commissioning activities as required
  • Support the CI manager with quoting and preparing bids as required
Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all work is executed in accordance with company safety policies, applicable codes, and customer site requirements
  • Produce MOPs and coordinate customer approval prior to work execution
  • Coordinate testing, startup, commissioning, and documentation as required by the project scope
  • Address quality issues or punch items promptly to ensure customer satisfaction
Financial & Job Cost Control
  • Review the project budget (original estimate) and ensure job setup in accordance with company standards (including phase codes)
  • Track project costs, labor hours, and productivity against budget
  • Ensure timely and accurate progress billing based on milestone achievement (SOVs) and final billing upon project completion
  • Forecast project costs to completion and identify risks or margin impacts early
  • Support WIP reporting and internal financial reviews as required
  • Manage change orders for scope adjustments, unforeseen site conditions, or customer-requested changes
  • Identify risks to margin or schedule early and implement corrective actions
Materials, Vendors & Subcontractors
  • Ensure submittals are approved by engineer of record and/or the customer prior to procuring equipment
  • Coordinate procurement and delivery of equipment, parts, and materials
  • Coordinate procurement of subcontractor scopes of work, execute subcontract agreements with subs that clearly define the scope of work and flow down key customer contract terms, and manage subcontractors during execution to ensure timely completion of contracted scope
  • Ensure materials and equipment are staged and available to support efficient site work
Customer Communication & Service Excellence
  • Provide clear, proactive communication regarding schedules, site readiness, and execution plans
  • Manage customer expectations in active facilities with minimal disruption to operations
  • Deliver a professional, service-oriented experience that supports repeat business
Closeout & Documentation
  • Ensure completion of all project scope, testing, and commissioning requirements
  • Coordinate delivery of closeout documentation, warranties, and service records
  • Confirm customer acceptance, support final billing, and project closeout
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of project management experience in a commercial electrical, DC installation and or generator installation business.
  • 3+ years' experience leading field crews as a crew lead, foreman, project manager, etc.
  • Experience working in Telcom/Broadband Headend and Hub facilities
  • Experience with AC/DC power systems including DC plants, batteries, rectifiers, inverters, etc. as well as general construction.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with -48VDC and +24VDC systems and installation procedures
  • Experience or knowledge with Cable/Telecom industry GR 1275 installation standards
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus
  • PMP or equivalent certification is a plus
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio (Visio is used for the following - scale drawings of floor plans, equipment layout, cable rack layout, site layout, AC & DC online drawings, and riser drawings)
  • CAD drawing experience is a plus
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
Ability to complete relevant safety training upon hirePhysical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor construction sites
Physical demands of traveling, including extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking during site visits and meetingsCompensation & Benefits:
