Medical Receptionist
Full-Time | $16.50-$20/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM
Location: Little Rock, AR 72211

The Opportunity
We are seeking a dependable and organized Medical Receptionist to support both administrative and patient-facing operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on multitasking, values patient interaction, and takes pride in maintaining efficient workflows and accurate documentation.
What You’ll Do
Patient Registration & Front Desk Support
- Check patients in and out efficiently and professionally
- Register patients and collect co-pays and deposits
- Prepare and distribute required patient documentation, including new patient paperwork, insurance information, and privacy notices
- Schedule appointments and direct incoming calls appropriately
- Provide compassionate assistance and support to patients and families
- Work within EMR systems daily to support clinical and administrative workflows
- Create new patient charts and retrieve existing records as needed
- File and maintain documentation in an organized medical record format
- Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other patient information in electronic medical records
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient records in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Prepare examination rooms and help maintain a clean facility environment
- Maintain office and medical supplies as needed
- Adhere to facility clinical guidelines and healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA requirements
- Complete assigned mandatory annual training by designated deadlines
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
- Interact professionally and courteously with physicians, staff, and patients
- Answer phones in a friendly and professional manner
- Support efficient communication and daily office operations across the clinic
- Enjoy creating positive experiences for patients and families
- Can confidently balance multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Have strong organizational skills and pay close attention to detail
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with both patients and coworkers
- Take initiative while also working well as part of a collaborative team
- Understand the importance of confidentiality, accuracy, and patient-centered service
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an administrative role required
- At least one (1) year of hands-on experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems required
- Experience with insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and collecting co-pays and deductibles required
- Previous experience in a healthcare facility preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of clerical procedures, recordkeeping, and filing systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology, spelling, and office ethics
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
