Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Product Owner in Canada.
This role is central to shaping and delivering a complex ERP platform used by professionals across finance, HR, procurement, maintenance, inventory, and project management functions. You will act as the key bridge between users and development teams, ensuring that every sprint delivers meaningful, user-centered value. The position requires a strong balance of execution discipline and user empathy, with daily involvement in backlog management, sprint planning, and product decision-making. You will translate real operational workflows into actionable user stories while guiding development priorities in a fast-paced Agile environment. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure alignment between business needs, technical constraints, and product vision. This is a highly hands-on role where your decisions directly shape product outcomes and user experience.
- Own and prioritize the product backlog, making day-to-day decisions on feature sequencing based on user needs, business value, technical constraints, and regulatory requirements.
- Write clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria grounded in real-world operational workflows.
- Participate in daily Agile ceremonies, ensuring sprint alignment with defined goals and priorities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the development team during sprints, clarifying requirements and removing blockers.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure usability and workflow efficiency are embedded in product development.
- Facilitate sprint reviews and demos, gathering feedback and incorporating insights into backlog refinement.
- Develop and maintain user personas, journeys, and workflow models to ensure strong user-centric product decisions.
- Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business needs into development requirements and vice versa.
- Manage stakeholder expectations through consistent communication on scope, progress, and priorities.
- Act as a cross-functional connector between development, QA, support, sales, and professional services teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in Agile environments.
- CSPO or PSPO certification is required or strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, including backlog management and sprint planning.
- Proven ability to write effective user stories and manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to define and communicate product and sprint vision with clarity and confidence.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data, metrics, and user feedback to inform decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- Technical fluency to understand system trade-offs and engage meaningfully with engineering teams.
- Strong decision-making skills under ambiguity, including the ability to confidently say “no” when needed.
- Curiosity and willingness to deeply understand complex enterprise workflows (ERP, finance, HR, or operations domains are an asset).
- Experience in ERP, HCM, or work management systems is a strong advantage.
- Salary range between CAD 70,000 and 100,000.
- 100% remote work flexibility within Canada and the US.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage from day one.
- Employee stock ownership and retirement savings (RRSP/401k matching programs).
- 3 weeks of vacation plus 5 personal days annually.
- Lifestyle rewards and employee recognition programs.
- Opportunities to work on large-scale enterprise ERP systems.
- Travel opportunities (approximately 25%) for collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Inclusive and collaborative Agile work environment focused on continuous improvement.
